Some people travel to Keukenhof in Holland just to see the tulips, and others go to Japan to see sakura/cherry blossom. It was not time for the flowers to fully bloom but I was lucky enough to get to see the early sakura adorning the branches without the leaves.
The sight of tiny flowers on the trees could trigger excitement among the tourists. People unashamedly would pose as near to the tree as possible for that one moment in time.
As for me, I would have to wait until retirement to be able to see sakura in full bloom in April. The time does not coincide with the school holidays so I will have to wait.
