29TH MAY 2023 ~ The exploration in the city had made us hungry again and it was time to eat. We decided to go to this restaurant named As-Salehah, which was near to the first one where we had had lunch earlier.
We ordered two pieces of Roti Canai [flat bread] each and Teh O [tea without milk] for my travel companion while I opted for Teh Tarik [tea with (evaporated) milk].
I was surprised when the food arrived at the table. The Roti Canai was much bigger and thicker than what we got back home. Since we ordered two pieces each, one piece of the bread was put on one plate so we had four plates which made the table full already. We could choose two types of gravy and there were chunks of small meat in the small plates. We expected we would have to pay more for those kind of gravy.
Surprise! Surprise! The Roti Canai still cost BND1 with the meat chunks in the gravy.
Teh O [no milk] was BND1 while Teh Tarik [with milk] was also BND1.
The gastronomic adventure was definitely a pleasant one as we had to pay reasonably cheap price for the food. I was immediately thinking of migrating to Bandar Seri Begawan at that very moment. 😀
