THE CELEBRATION OF MAULIDUR RASUL IN SCHOOL

18th January ~ The celebration for the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was carried out in school today. Alhamdulillah, thank you Allah, the weather was beautiful so everything was done according to plan. Here's the very brief report of the event:

1. The students and teachers were seated under the tents erected as well as at the school "Astaka".

2. A group of form one students presented a "nasyid" (religious songs) followed by a Qur'an recitation by Akmal Aiman.

3. The guest speaker was Ustaz Hambali, the Imam of Bandar Baru Uda Mosque. There was also another speaker, the pioneer of a "Tahfiz" school in Thailand, who delivered a very short speech and recited the prayer for us. Ustaz Hambali successfully delivered a very interesting talk that attracted the students' attention as they could be seen listening attentively and responded well to both the questions posed and the all the jokes.

4. The children who were involved in the "aqiqah" (the act of slaughtering animals and the meat distributed and eaten with the hope that the kids would grow up and become good people) were presented with tokens of appreciation. Some of the meat cooked for the feast came from the "aqiqah" ritual.

5. Last but not least, it was lunch time for everybody. This year, the food was prepared by a caterer and I must say it was really delicious, or perhaps I was too hungry.

The event ended at 12:00 p.m. and it was another job well done. Congratulations to everyone who had given their support and cooperation, and we shall meet again next year, "InsyaAllah" (with God's will).
