THE ROSE GARDEN OF CHRISTCHURCH

The Rose Garden was inside the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. It was much smaller than the ones I visited in Palmerston North and Wellington. Nevertheless, the bright colours, delicate texture and fragrant petals did not fail to amaze me. I was happier here because I could get my photos taken among the flowers that bloomed in summer. Here, happiness was defined in a different and simpler way. Let the pictures do the talking while I reminisced the pleasant moment I had had there in the Rose Garden.

"When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun's love
In the spring becomes the rose"

"The Rose"
Bette Midler
