23rd NOVEMBER 2024 ~ The original plan was to go the main attraction of Songkhla, Samila Beach. Then we would get ourselves photographed with the Golden Mermaid Statue at the beach. However, that did not happen because it started to rain as we were walking a short distance from the car towards the beach.
We nevertheless managed to be photographed in front of another statue of a cat and a mouse.
We then tried to find a halal/Muslim restaurant in the row of stalls near the beach, and there was this eating place called Subaidah Restaurant. We did not have much choice actually so we just hopped into the dining area. We were the only diners at that time, but then there was a group of Malaysians who came in a few minutes after.

As we were seated, the sky opened up and there was a heavy downpour.

Even the horse was taking shelter in the restaurant.

We had another round of seafood fiesta for lunch.

The eating place looked much better actually on a sunny day.
The trip to Songkhla had to be cut short, and we then drove back to Hatyai.
