26th AUGUST 2023 ~ The one spot that visitors or tourists go to in Kuala Kangsar is the Victoria Bridge. We being a one-day tourist made it a point to be there too, after the Ubudiah Mosque and Kenangan Palace.
Some interesting facts about Victoria Bridge:
- It is also known as Enggor Bridge.
- It is the oldest railway Bridge in Malaysia.
- In 1900, Frank Sweetenham mentioned in his speech that this was the biggest railway bridge in Asia, outside of India, (as if India is not in Asia)
- Victoria Bridge was used until 2002 when a new and wider concrete bridge was built to replace the old one.
It was actually a challenge to take photos there were many people there when we arrived. However, we managed to capture the essential poses from a few different angles before making our way back to Ipoh.
