19TH DECEMBER 2024 ~ The iconic landmark of Alor Setar, the capital city of Kedah, is none other than Alor Setar Tower. I made it a point to visit this structure on the first day of my stay there.
Before going up the tower, I found the popular local ice-cream stall - Mokti's.
There is always a first time.
I was there after 6:00 p.m. I was instructed by the staff to get to Level 5 first. Here, it was an open platform where visitors could see the scenery around clearly, with the wind blowing on one's face. I was lucky in a way as I could observe the sunset from Alor Setar Tower that evening.
Once the sun disappeared behind the clouds, I made my way down to Level 3. Here is a closed area surrounded by glass panels around so one could get a bird's eye view of Alor Setar city nearer to the ground.

There was a wedding reception being held at the Tower and I asked the bride and groom in flaming red wedding costumes for a photo together. They were actually having an outdoor photo session on Level 5.
The visit to Alor Setar Tower was actually the third tower for the year 2024: Kobe Tower in July and Kuantan 188 Tower in June.
That should conclude my tour of the city of Alor Setar. I would already be venturing out of the city with friends the next day.
