BEIJING DAY 4 - VISITING THE SUMMER PALACE, IN WINTER

26th NOVEMBER - The next historical site on the list was the Summer Palace which once was an Imperial Garden. When we arrived there it was a bit foggy, the temperature was really low and we could see the lake water had started to freeze on the surface. Despite the grey sky and cold wind, the place was still crowded with people walking and enjoying the scenery. However, I bet the view would be much better during summer or spring, or at least during a bright daylight.

The drawback of following a group tour was that you could not hang out a certain spot for too long - too many places, too little time. This would be one place I would love to visit again, in a different weather condition that is.
