THE LANDMINE VICTIMS PERFORMING ON THE STREET

Even after the wars were over, Cambodia was not a safe place for its people. One major reason, landmines were still planted almost everywhere. Innocent people either died of were crippled all their lives.  According to Wikipedia, in 2013, 111 Cambodians became victims to the landmines explosions - 22 people dead and 89 injured.

I saw this group of street musicians  whom I believed were the victims of the landmines somewhere near the entrance of Ta Phrohm. If you watch the video carefully, you could see at least three of them had their feet amputated, and someone has lost both his hands.

Despite their disabilities, there were there to work by entertaining passers-by with traditional Cambodian music. I just hope people are generous enough to contribute when they see them.
