THURSDAY, 5th JULY ~ In conjunction with the nisfu Syaaban [the fifteenth day of the Muslim month of Syaaban] a programme was conducted for all the staff and students by the Outreach Body ("badan dakwah"). First of all, everyone was encouraged to perform the optional fasting and then together we had the meal to break the fast when the sun went down ("iftar"). This year, the number of students and teachers taking part increased to as high as 600 people which was unexpected. The event was done in a much smaller scale before this.

After the meal, we performed the Maghrib prayer and followed by the recitation of surah (something like a chapter) Al-Kahfi from the holy Qur'an, instead of the usual Yaasin. Lastly, the Isya' prayer was performed and the whole thing ended at about 9:30 p.m.
Congratulations to all the organizing and committee members who had made the event a success as well as to everybody who had participated and given donation for a good cause. With this, hopefully we have become more prepared for the arrival of Ramadhan, which is just around the corner.
