A BENCHMARKING TRIP TO ST. PATRICK'S SCHOOL, SINGAPORE [PART 1]

19th OCTOBER 2018 ~ The teachers of SMK Dato' Jaafar carried out the bench-marking trip to St. Patrick's School in Singapore. We started our journey from school at about 7:30 a.m. but only arrived there at 11:00 a.m. as there was a bad traffic congestion on the road to the East Coast.

We were greeted by Mr. Lucas Lak Pathi Singh a.k.a Mr. Lak, the longest serving ex-Principal of St. Pat's, at the school entrance. Thank god he still welcomed us into the school ground despite the fact we were all way behind schedule.

St. Patrick's School is a missionary school which was founded in 1933 and is now one of the schools in Singapore with a good ranking and reputation.

My very first impression of the school: old with historical architecture but very clean and well-looked after.

We were first taken to the computer lab. The students were not in school on that day and the teachers were doing moderation for the examination.

Then we went to the Home Science Room. Too bad we did not have enough time to visit other rooms in the school.

We then adjourned to the Heritage Room which was also the old school library (if I am not mistaken) for a more detailed briefing.
