ATTENDING NURAFIQAH SYAHIDAH'S WEDDING

Today was THE day for Nurafiqah Syahidah, an ex-student who is from SPM batch 2011. I was also happy to meet two of her elder siblings, Muhammad Azffar and Nur'Ain Syuhadah as well as their parents who are no strangers to me. I arrived at Taman Desa Skudai Community Hall a bit late as I had guests at home before that and glad I could still make it.

Wishing the newly-married couple all the happiness the world could offer. I hope I could still attend two more wedding receptions of the family in the future.

THE THIRD DAY OF EID 1435H

The first group of well-wishers who came for Eid comprised of two ex-students who are married to each other: Mr. Mohd. Hazran Zuberi (SPM batch 1999) and Ms. Rusinah Amirudin (SPM batch 2000). And they were here to deliver their yummy-licious home-baked red velvet and brownies cup cakes. The last time I met these two was during the bride's wedding reception on the 30th May 2010 [click HERE for the story].

By the way, if you are interested to order their cup cakes for any functions and if you are staying around Putrajaya area, you can do so by visiting their Facebook page: Sweet Tooth Frozen Cheesecakes.

The people in the second group who came visiting were my colleague, Tuan Haji Mohd. Sabri Mohd. Salleh, the wife and her three daughters who are all my ex-students. Habibah just came back from the UK for her semester break, Hanani is currently studying at Kolej Matrikulasi Johor while Hakimah is now at Sekolah Menengah Sains Seri Puteri, Kuala Lumpur.

How the girls have grown up, or how I have grown old already. *sigh* Nevertheless, I am still looking forward to see them for many more Eid to come and to quote their mother words, soon they will come visiting with their children tagging along.

THE SECOND DAY OF EID 1435H

Two old friends from college came visiting on the second day of Eid. The first group comprised of Puan Suhana Abdul Jamal and her family. They are all residing in Sungai Petani and we use to see each other during this festive season, something like an annual event.

A few hours later, Dr. Hayati Ismail and her family members arrived for the same reason. They have come visiting every year without fail and it is always a pleasure to welcome them.

I am hoping to see more old friends during this month of Syawal.

SPOT THE ERROR 67

In conjunctions with the coming Eid celebration, here is something for you to spot.

The errors are not only found in the English sentence, but also in the Malay language too.  *double sigh*

Thanks to Puan Adila Ahmad for the feed. :)

WHEN EID IS AROUND THE CORNER [PART TWO]

I would like to propose a longer break given to the employers BEFORE the Eid celebration, let's say one week, so that more things could be done during that particular time. Doing too many things and going to too many places in one day, what more with the very hot weather during day, could be very challenging. Let's have a look at some of the activities that I did today outside the house.

7:45 a.m. - Pasar Tani [translate: Farmer's Market]
Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium

And I just hated the crowd. Finding a parking space was already an issue here.

8.30 a.m. - Kampung Melayu Market
[relocated temporarily to Taman Suria]

I bought vegetables for Eid earlier as this place will be another mad house tomorrow. But still, I will have to come here very early in the morning, right after the "Subuh" (dawn) prayer to get fresh coconut milk to avoid the long queue.

9:45 a.m. - Plaza Angsana Johor Bahru

I was here earlier so that I could get a parking space beside the main building, and there was no need to get into the multi-storey parking lot.

When I thought I was very early, there were other people already crowding the entrance when I arrived.

4:45 p.m. - Giant Hypermarket Taman Suria

I had to exchange the light bulbs that I wrongly bought last week and to get something for the aquarium from the pet shop there.

5:45 p.m. - Ramadhan Bazaar at Taman Suria

My first time visiting the Ramadhan Bazaar here, on the 28th day of the fasting month.

One more day to go... Please God give me strength. :)

THE LONG BREAK FOR EID HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED

The long break for Eid has already started. Three more days to go (including today) and I am getting more nervous. Too many things to do, to little time to do it (or too tired/lazy to it).

I would like to express my gratitude to the kind-hearted people  for all the Eid Raya goodies that were handed over to me before the festive holidays started. Only God may repay your good deeds.

I got three cards this year, all by hand, and I left one more card in school.

THE "KHATAM AL-QUR'AN" EVENT IN SCHOOL FOR RAMADHAN THIS YEAR

Wednesday, 25th July 2014 ~ The "Khatam Al-Qur'an" event was done to mark the success of the school community, teachers and students, in completing their effort of reading together the holy book throughout the month. This was also to conclude the activities that were carried out during the fasting month of Ramadhan this year.

Other than that, alms were also distributed to the needy students for the upcoming Eid celebration.

We are actually moving towards the end of Ramadhan - how time flies. Today is the last day of school before everyone gets busier either doing preparation for Eid or going back to their hometowns.
