ATTENDING A WEDDING RECEPTION ON THE THIRD DAY OF EID

I attended the wedding reception of the son of Mr. Azmi and Pn. Izzati Syafinaz Abullah, held at their house in Taman Pulai Indah. Puan Izzati is an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti. The groom, Mr. Faris, who was still a toddler at that time 30 years ago, used to tag along his mother when she came to school.

It was the third day of Eid and I had started my optional 6-day Fasting so I did not eat at the reception. However, the mother of the groom packed some food for me to break fast, to my delight.

Thank you Puan Izzati and Mr. Azmi for inviting me. Hope to be invited again for similar event for their other children in the future.

 

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF DR. HANNAN HANAFI

After not meeting after he left SMK Taman Universiti, I was invited by an ex-student, Mr. Muhammad Hannan Hanafi, to his wedding reception [via Messenger].

The event was held at Taman Pulai Jaya Community Hall. I arrived at about 2:50 p.m., because of the heavy traffic. and there were not many guests at that time.

I just got to know that Mr. Hannan, the bride, is now attached with Hospital Sultanah Aminah. And her younger sister, also an ex-student, is also a doctor there.

Congratulations Dr. Hannan and Aina. may your marriage be filled with love and happiness throughout.

AN EX-COLLEAGUE'S POST EID OPEN HOUSE

   10TH MAY 2024    ~ An ex-colleague of SMK Mutiara Rini, Puan Nadia Rusli, invited me to her open house held in Taman Pulai Indah. Even though officially Eid was already over, people still invited friends and families to such event.

I should be one of the early birds and there were a few familiar faces from school which was a big relief. I knew I had people to talk to while enjoying the food.

Thank you Puan Nadia Rusli for the kind thought of inviting me. Hope to be invited again for more open houses event in the future. 😀

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF MR. MOHAMAD ZIKRY

It was another wedding reception of an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti, Mr. Mohamad Zikry bin Zulkafli. I just got to know that he married his ex-schoolmate of the same batch, Ms. Farah Izati Ishak.

The reception was done at the groom's parents' house in Taman Pulai Indah.

There was no excuse for me not to attend Mr. Zikry's reception as he was an active member of the school's Angklung Group, playing the conga.

There were not many people whom I knew and recognized. There was Miss Nora, another ex-student, who was kind enough to say "hi" and introduced herself to me.

I am still waiting for another photo taken with Mr. Hanif which was in his phone. 😀

This should be the very last wedding reception attended for the year 2023.

ATTENDING A WEDDING RECEPTION OF EX-COLLEAGUES' DAUGHTER

Tn. Hj. Abd. Aziz Mahmood, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, and her wife, Pn. Hjh. Zaiton Mohamad, an ex-colleague of SMK Gelang Patah, invited me to their third daughter's wedding reception held at their house in Taman Pulai Indah. I was truly touched by their constant thought of inviting me to the receptions for their children without fail despite the fact that we are no longer working together under one roof for quite a long time.

I met their daughter, Puan Alia Kamalia, who is an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti from the SPM batch 2005.

There were no other people that I recognized attending the reception except the parents of two other ex-students. It was always a pleasure to be able to meet with old colleagues and wedding would be one of the events reunion always happens.

I couldn't take a photo with the newlyweds as there were just too many people. At the same time, the wedding was somewhat formal with a specific program throughout so there was no space to say "hi" to them.

WEDDING #2

I was invited by Puan Asiah Jaffar who was my neighbout/childhood friend. And so happened, her youngest son was an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti. However, it was not his reception but for three of his siblings which was done at the same time.

So far, there will be no more invitation for the coming two weeks and that should be a big relief. I am getting fatter as all the past weekends were occupied by eating activities at wedding receptions.

A MINI REUNION WITH EX-COLLEAGUES OF SMK TAMAN UNIVERSITI

There was a small gathering at Puan Rosnani Talib's house in Taman Pulai Indah because an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, Puan Rohani Shamsuddin, is currently in Johor Bahru, staying at her daughter's place. Puan Rokiah Junoh and her husband were kind enough to fetch Puan Rohani to the mini reunion and then send her back.

Puan Rohani Shamsuddin has now retired and residing in Kemaman, Terengganu. Puan Rosnani Talib is now teaching in SMK Kangkar Pulai while Puan Rokiah Junoh is a staff at SMK Gelang Patah.

The last time I met Puan Rohani was in 2018 during Deepavali.

Thanks a lot Puan Rosnani for preparing all the food and the hospitality. Hope we could organize a bigger reunion when Puan Rohani is here again in the future.
