THE WINTER GARDEN IN SUMMER

7th December 2014 ~ Just outside Auckland Museum was another small building: Winter Garden. I was expecting to see snow, or at least to experience low temperature inside, but I was wrong. What I found inside was blooming flowers of all sorts, housed under one roof. I guess I have to do some research to find out why was it called "Winter Garden" when it was not cold at all.

I was not complaining though as I was having a great time looking and observing and taking photos of the beautiful plants that bore bright and colourful flowers. Some of them didn't look real to me so I had to touch the petals (when no one was watching) just to make sure they were real plants.

And that should wrap up my visit to the beautiful islands of New Zealand and I must say I do not mind going back to that place again if I am given the chance to do so. If you are interested in travelling, this is the one place you should go. It might be slightly expensive (but still cheaper than Australia) as it would be worth the money spend.

Oh, I have missed all the wonderful things New Zealand has to offer already. *sigh*

AUCKLAND MUSEUM INSIDE OUT

7th December 2013 ~ This was the very last museum visited during my 2-week stay in New Zealand. After some time, everything already looked familiar to me. People had to pay to get into this building and I took the package which comprised of a guided tour and Maori cultural show.

I did not take too many photos here because first, I was already feeling tired (I walked quite a distance from the hotel to the museum) and second, I was too engrossed listening to the guide and moving together with the group from one section to the other. But it was worth the money spent.

This is the simulation house for volcano eruption. Sit inside the house for a few minutes and experience the moment when a volcano erupts.

The best part of the museum is definitely the Maori cultural show. Only on the last day in New Zealand, I got to watch the performance. I will be posting the videos of the show after this. Please come back for more...

WALKING BY THE UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND

I discovered the University of Auckland by accident. It was just across one of Albert Park's entrance gates. I just went near a few buildings by the roadside which had very beautiful architecture. On the last day in Auckland, I lost my way when I was going out from the Auckland Museum and surprisingly, I was at the same spot I had been before in the campus which led me to Albert Park and then straight to the city.

That was the last academic visit when I was in New Zealand. I did not have the chance to study abroad so this should make me happy somehow.
