MY BANDAR PENAWAR GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE - PART 4

17TH SEPTEMBER 2026   ~ The short staycation in Pengerang had come to an end and we decided to get lunch before leaving. This time it was another restaurant in Bandar Penawar that was featured on TikTok.

We were already outside Kaffelbait a few minutes before 1:00 p.m. We officiated the opening of the restaurant on that day and were the earliest diners checking in for lunch.

We had Fried Rice and Char Kuew Tiau that afternoon and some fancy drinks. I just realized I did not have a photo of myself or a selfie because the friendly chef came out of the kitchen and chatted with us.

THE REVIEW: The food was good and the portion was big. You could also opt for western food for your meal. Now I know of a good eating place if I am to get to Bandar Penawar after this.

MY BANDAR PENAWAR GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE - PART 3

17TH SEPTEMBER 2026   ~ The gastronomic adventure in Bandar Penawar on the second day started early. We took the breakfast package in Amerald Hotel as it was cheaper when in came together with the room.

We went down to the cafe at about 7:30 a.m. and surprisingly we were among the early birds.

The food variety was suffice and we were happy with the morning meal. I always try to take the breakfast package when staying in a hotel especially when it is worth the price.

MY BANDAR PENAWAR GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE - PART 2

16th SEPTEMBER 2026   ~ We had to drive more than 20km for dinner to Dapur Kembar. I had bought a hotel in room in Pengerang and the original plan was actually to stay in Desaru. My gastronomic adventure buddy discovered this place on TikTok so we wanted to give it a try.

When we arrived at about 8:00 p.m. all the tables were taken. We had to wait for quite some time and at one point, we decided to make a move and find another eating place. Then only, people started leaving and we managed to be seated for our meal. Guess people came at that same time for dinner that evening.

The foods ordered were Sate, Fried Rice and Fried Noodles. The portion was big and the food was quite spicy but that was alright for me.

Based on the crowd we met at the restaurant, this could be a popular place among the locals. One place you would consider for a decent dinner in Bandar Penawar.

MY BANDAR PENAWAR GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE - PART ONE

16TH SEPTEMBER 2026 ~ In conjunction with Hari Malaysia public holiday, a staycation trip to Pengerang was set with my regular gastronomic adventure buddy. Initially I wanted to stay in Desaru area but only realized that I had booked a hotel in Pengerang after checking in.

The first stop was lunch at Bandar Penawar and the chosen venue was Khaira Celop Tepong.

When we arrived at about 12:30 p.m., the place was already full with diners. I guess this place was popular, especially during weekends and public holidays.

Even though there were many people, the service was fast. We did not have to wait long for the food to be served.

The centre piece of the table, which was also the restaurant's specialty, was seafood like prawns and squids that were coated in flour and fried. We added on Chicken Tom Yum as the fried items were too dry to go with our rice.

The meal set that we ordered was more than enough for two. If you are looking for food originated from the East Coast, i.e. the fried seafood, then you could consider this place as an option.

STATE LEVEL COMPETITION FOR KADET BOMBA - PART 3

our late breakfast

The events that we competed in finished quite early. We thought there was a chance to go back earlier but unfortunately, we had to wait for all the events to finish before the closing ceremony. With nothing else to do, we just enjoyed the food and lazed around the fire station, making ourselves very much at home.

Of course we did not win anything but I believe that it was a very fun learning experience for the cadets. We saw a lot of new things and if we were to be chosen to go again next year, we would be more prepared.

We went off at about 5:30 p.m., feeling tired but happy. The students had participated in an activity at state level and would be awarded a higher mark for their co-curriculum evaluation.

I hope many other members will come forward to join Kadet Bomba's activities that will be planned at school level. Frankly speaking, I am quite worried as lesser people are showing interest to come for meetings and activities held regularly in school.
