ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF THE SON OF DATIN LATIPAH A. GHANI

   10TH OCTOBER 2026    ~ I received an invitation from Datin Latipah A. Ghani to the wedding reception of his so. It was very thoughtful of her to still invite me even though I could not make it to the first reception of the family before this. Besides, I had never taught in the same school with her but we were still acquainted.

The event was held at Danga Bay Convention Centre. It was my first time going there and was not actually aware of its existence.

As usual, there were a few people whom I recognized - ex-colleagues of SMK Taman Universiti and SMK Mutiara Rini, English teacher friend and officer from District Education Department.

I got to thank Puan Latipah again for her kind thought of sending out the invitation to me. Congratulations to Datin Latifah and family on the arrival of the new member and hope to be invited again for similar event in the future.

THE REUNION GATHERING FOR THE RETIRED STAFF AND TEACHERS OF SMK MUTIARA RINI

   30TH APRIL 2026   ~ A gathering for the retired ex-colleagues, teachers and non-academic staff of SMK Mutiara Rini, was held today at 10:00 a.m. This gathering was initiated by Mr. Mohd. Ghazali who managed to get 15 friends to attend.

 

The chosen venue was Chamek Restaurant located in Taman Universiti. We produced so much noise in the dining hall and hopefully other people who were there at that time understood the joy and excitement the group was having.

This was just a short meeting and the gathering was adjourned at 11:30 a.m. It was a happy moment for everyone to get to see each other again after a long time. This was the very first reunion gathering if its kind and there was already suggestion for similar get together after this.

MY FIRST RAMADHAN GIFT ARRIVED THIS EVENING

It used to be a gift for Eid. This time, however, the hamper package arrived before Ramadhan, the fasting month.

Thanks to my Chinese ex-colleagues of SMK Mutiara Rini for the kind thought. I really appreciate the kind gesture, not only now but every year.

GETTING MY FIRST BOX OF MANDARIN ORANGES THIS YEAR

Chinese New Year is coming. The festive season is synonymous with mandarin oranges, the fruits that are sold almost everywhere. They are the symbol of wealth and prosperity. Giving a friend or relative oranges is like giving him/her gold.

My first box of oranges was handed over to me today by Puan Lim Swat Pay, the representative of my Chinese friends of SMK Mutiara Rini. Thanks everybody for the kind thought. Wishing all of you a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year. Gong Xi Fa Cai!

 

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF MR. AIDIL BOHARI

   13TH DECEMBER 2025    ~ I attended the wedding reception of an ex-colleague of SMK Mutiara Rini today, Mr. Aidil Bohari. The event was held at the wedding hall of Monet Garden by Diva, somewhere near Taman Selesa Jaya.

I was there after 2:00 p.m. and managed to see a few ex-colleagues of SMK Mutiara Rini.

Surprisingly, there were also ex-colleague and ex-students of SMK Taman Universiti attending the event.

Wishing Mr. Aidil and his partner a happy life filled with joy and laughter ahead. Thank you also for the kind thought of inviting me to the reception.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF AN EX-COLLEAGUE'S CHILDREN IN TAMAN BUKIT INDAH

   1ST NOVEMBER 2025    ~ An ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, Puan Suhana Suratman, held a wedding reception for his daughter and son simultaneously. The event for the two pairs of brides and grooms were held at the Community Hall at Taman Bukit Indah. 

I had already expected to meet a few ex-colleagues in the hall but it turned out, there were a lot of friends who were present when I was there.

There were a few ex-students as well. Actually, both Puan Suhana's newlyweds children are also the alumni of the same school.

The four of us are the pioneers of SMK Taman Universiti when it was opened on 1st December 1994.

That was another reunion session for friends of SMK Taman Universiti that took place at a wedding reception and I believe there will be more gatherings to come in the future.

Congratulations to Puan Suhana on the addition of the two new members into the family. I think she will still have to hold similar events for her other kids in the coming years and may I be called again to join in.
