GATHERING AND CELEBRATING THE START OF THE MID-TERM SCHOOL HOLIDAY

A gathering was called on the first day of the mid-term school holiday. This time the people who were involved were the English teachers of SMK Taman Universiti, the present and the past. Two are now in SMK Mutiara Rini while someone else is currently in SMK Kangkar Pulai. Another special guest, not a teacher, was there and she prepared desserts for us.

The meeting was held at Black Canyon Restaurant, AEON Bukit Indah. It was my first time there, as well as for a few others.

Great food and great company, and the session lasted for about 2 hours. Hopefully our plan for the next gathering could be materialized after this.

ANOTHER FAREWELL GATHERING FOR MR. SHAHBUDIN YUSOF

17th November 2015 ~ A mini farewell gathering was called at one of the stalls located at Taman Universiti. Friends from SMK Taman Universiti were there at about 9:00 p.m. Encik Shahbudin Yusof, the ex-principal of SMK Kangkar Pulai, who was also in SMK Taman Universiti before as the Head of Department, was invited as the guest of honour so as to wish him a happy retirement. [NOTE: Mr. Shahbudin was also my teacher when I was in SMS Muar a long time ago.] We had a short "tahlil" and prayer before eating.

I wonder when I retire later, people will do this kind of gathering for me. Or perhaps, by that time, we will all be scattered all over Malaysia already. *sigh* Anyway, I am always looking forward to good food and good company of friends. I will never say never.

A FAREWELL GATHERING FOR RETIRING MR. SHAHBUDIN YUSOFF

A farewell gathering was held for the retiring Mr. Shahbudin Yusoff, the Principal of SMK Kangkar Pulai at Mak Jah Cafe, UTM. The small event was attended by teachers from SMK Pulai Perdana and SMK Taman Universiti.

Mr. Shahbudin was one of the teachers in Taman Universiti for quite some time before he was promoted to become a principal in Segamat (if I am not wrong). Then, he was sent to SMK Kangkar Pulai and ended his teaching service there.

Mr. Shahbudin was my teacher in SMS Muar back in the 80's.

We wish Mr. Shahbudin a happy retirement days ahead and may he stay healthy and happy as always.

SATURDAY IS ATTENDING-WEDDING-RECEPTIONS DAY

19th September 2015 ~ Today was the wedding reception of another ex-student of SMKTUN from SPM batch 2005, Puan Saifaralina Abdul Jalil. The ceremony was held in Taman Universiti. It is really great to see these people grow up, developing from young school children to become young adults. I was there a bit too late. I forgot to bring the invitation card and could not remember the house address. Luckily, I saw the tents from a distance and tried my luck. Too bad I could not meet her other classmates.

The second invitation was from an ex-SMKTUN teacher, Puan Normawati Adnan, who is currently teaching in SMK Kangkar Pulai. It was the reception for his son's wedding and the event was held at Kolej Perdana, UTM. I met two other friends, Puan Hashazah Mohd. Hashim and Puan Izzati Syafinaz Abdullah, there. I am always excited to get to see old friends.

And that was how I spent the second day of the mid-term school break.

FYI, I am not going anywhere this time as the E-d-Adha celebration falls on this coming Thursday, so stop asking. :)
