A TRIBUTE TO THE LATE KING BHUMIBOL

18th DECEMBER 2018 ~ As I was making my exit out of the palace, I saw this open place where an exhibition was held. Upon close inspection, it was an exhibition as a tribute to the late King Bhumibol.

Most of the exhibits were photos of the King printed on fabric and were placed inside glass boxes.

I had actually spent 1 hour and 30 minutes here even though the driver only gave me an hour to explore. Too bad the building was being renovated but I still had a good time roaming around and admiring the palace. I don't mind coming back once the work has finished one day.

THE MEN'S QUARTERS AT MRIDAYAGAVAN PALACE

18th DECEMBER 2018 ~ The long terrace rooms were either the men's or women's quarters - the place where the servants or staff stayed. Correct me if I am wrong as I could not find enough information about this palace on the internet.

The building had been converted into exhibition rooms which displayed items of the past, and depicted the lifestyle of the royalty and the people living there.

Never had I been to a place where I could do anything so freely, without being observed by anyone. Just hope I could one day go into the real palace building once the renovation was completed.

MRIGADAYAVAN PALACE IN HUA HIN - PART TWO

18th DECEMBER 2018 ~ I did not find any announcement on the internet that the Palace was undergoing a major renovation. In the end, I just walked here and there but at the same time admiring the beautiful architecture of the palace which was built with wood. I always fancy traditional wooden houses like my house was once used to be.

There was this building with the sign "OFFICE" but it looked more like a library exhibition area. I was not really sure of the status of that place, whether visitors were allowed inside. As there was not a single soul to be seen, I happily walked in and was ready to be shooed away any time.

This room housed one of the Kings' collections of botany work. I wonder if the displays were originally from the main palace building and were moved here temporarily as the place was still under renovation.

There were two more interesting buildings I came across in the palace compound and will be posting about them right after this.
