ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF MR MUHD FAIZ YUSOF

18th JULY 2026    ~ Right after the event in Sanglang, Pontian [READ HERE], I drove homebound to attend another wedding reception in the Community Hall at Taman Pulai Utama. It was the wedding of an ex-student's, Mr. Muhd. Faiz Yusof.

I arrived at about 2:30 p.m. expecting to be one of the latecomers but there were still many guests in the hall.

The food was still aplenty. I was still full from the feast from the previous event, so I just went for the "kuih", cakes and dessert.

Pn. Zakiah, an ex-colleague

There were some ex-students who were also present and I met one ex-colleague with her husband.

Thanks Mr. Faiz for your kind thought of inviting me to your reception. Wishing you both a lifetime filled with love, laughter, happiness and countless beautiful memories. May your journey together be blessed every step of the way.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF PUAN YUSIDAH'S TWO CHILDREN

A wedding reception today was held for two pairs of brides and grooms who are the children of Puan Yusidah Mohd. Yusof, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti. Both the siblings, Miss Najwa and Mr. Zikri, are also the ex-students of the same school, as well as the wife of Mr. Zikri.

Two friends were leaving as I arrived

The event was held at the Community Hall in Taman Pulai Utama.

I arrived at the hall after 2:00 p.m. and the place was not that crowded anymore. Still, I got to meet many ex-students and ex-colleagues there.

There were still reunions happening outside the hall as I was leaving the place.

Congratulations to the parents and the newly wedded couples. Technically there is one more similar event for the family and hopefully I will still be invited.

I think this would be the last reception before the arrival of the fasting month of Ramadhan. I will then take a short break from eating too much at such event, at least for a few weeks.

VISITING AN EX-STUDENT WHO IS NOT WELL AT HOME

10TH FEBRUARY 2025    ~ I was asked by Mr. Aziz Omar whether I would be interested to visit his ex-schoolmate, which should be my ex-student [of SMK Taman Universiti], who was at his parents' place in Taman Pulai Utama. I got to know about the health condition of Mr. Anas Omar from his sister's post on Facebook when he was in Shah Alam a few weeks ago.

Since he was here in Johor Bahru, that should be the best time to pay him a visit. He was in the middle of a massage therapy session when I arrived. I was glad that he looked healthy and recuperating, and was already mobile, even though the movements were still limited. He had made a lot of positive progress after these three weeks.

We had to excuse ourselves as it was already getting late [almost 10:00 p.m.] Hope Mr. Anas Omar will get well real soon and we could go out for coffee when I see him next time.

ATTENDING THREE WEDDING RECEPTIONS IN ONE DAY - PART TWO

   WEDDING #2

6TH JULY 2024    ~ The wedding reception of the son of Mr. Mohd. Nurji bin Zaini, an ex-colleague of SMK Mutiara Rini. His son, Mr. Fahmi Nurji, the groom's youngest brother, is an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti,

The reception was done at the Community Hall at Taman Pulai Utama.

I met many ex-students and ex-colleagues of SMK Taman Universiti there.

There was also an ex-colleague of SMK Dato' Jaafar with her other family members.

I sat at the same table with someone who happened to be the father-in-law of my neighbour's child.

   WEDDING #3

The last wedding reception of the day was held at KPIP Hall at Taman Universiti. It was the wedding reception of Ms. Zainab Abd. Mobin. She is an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti and it is interesting as her other 8 siblings attended the same school. In addition, her brother-in-law is also the alumnus of the school.

There was a reunion of TEN ex-students on the bridal stage that afternoon which rarely happened.

Three receptions in one afternoon had surely made me fatter. At the same time, I got to see a lot of people from school in one day, and that made me happier.
