A LUNCH SESSION AFTER SCHOOL WITH EDUCATION OFFICERS

Two old friends who are now attached to the State and District Education Department and Office respectively asked me out for lunch as they had their meeting at a hotel nearby. They picked me up at school to the this one At first we wanted to go to this one restaurant but unfortunately it was closed. So I navigated them to Pelangi Briyani House which was not far away.

Then we continued chatting in my room at school after sending me back. Guess there was a lot to talk about after a long time not meeting each other. Thanks Mr. Abdul Aziz and Mr. Mohd. Syahril for the time, and we should do this more often.

FRIED BANANA SESSION WITH FRIENDS AFTER SCHOOL

It was time for us to hang out after school again after being away from each other for about 5 months. The place chosen was the stall in Stulang Laut selling fried banana and the food should be something light enough for tea.

It was just a short sit in under the canopy tent but it was fun the have the time to chat with friends outside school. Looking forward to more hang out sessions after school after this.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO SAVE MOTHER EARTH?

16th OCTOBER 2021 ~ The recycle factory was finally opened after the MCO was lifted and it was time for me to do my bit for the society. The cans and plastic materials had been accumulating so it was to be sent away and gain some money.

I was RM15 richer but the most important thing, I had done my part to save Mother Earth. What about you?

COFFEE TIME ON A WEEKEND

22nd OCTOBER 2021 ~ I needed to buy something at Paradigm Mall and an ex-student coincidently was suggesting to meet up for coffee on Friday. At the same time, I needed his advise and expertise to get the item so it was definitely the perfect time to gather after the MCO was lifted.

Thanks Mr. Haiqal Johari not only for the time at SDS but also for the assistance at SenQ, recommending me what was the best item to buy. May this be the first to many more hanging out sessions to come.

GOING THAI FOR LUNCH AFTER SCHOOL

An ex-student [of SMK Taman Universiti] wanted to give me a belated birthday treat and how I could I say "no" to such an offer. The place chosen was "ChaWan" in Kampung Melayu, which was actually near to my house, and we opted for Thai.

We were the only customers in the building when we arrived at about 2:45 p.m.

At that time, the rain just stopped so just decided to get the seats inside the house. The restaurant was originally a house before it was converted into an eating place.

Once the rain had stopped, we decided to eat outside which was more airy and carried all the food and drinks to the other table.

I don't think I could be a good food reviewer I could not really distinguish which food is better than which. The minced chicken rice I had tasted Thai alright but once I bit the basil leaf and super hot chili, all other tastes and flavours automatically disappeared.

Thanks a lot Miss Nurul Izzah Abd. Rahman for the birthday treat. Once in a while, the teacher got lucky when an ex-student decided to take him out for a meal. May Allah bless your kind soul and may you prosper in health and wealth so you could give many more treats after this. 😀

ANOTHER PARCEL FROM ANOTHER FRIEND ARRIVED AT HOME

18th OCTOBER 2021 ~ Another parcel arrived today from another friend of UPM TESL class of 1993. This time I received "Serunding Ayam" [dried chicken floss] all the way from Kelantan.

Thanks a lot Puan Nik Shariza Nik Yusof for your kind gesture. Only Allah may repay your kindness.

I am blessed to have many friends with generous hearts. Although we are all far apart, friendship knows no boundary.

THE CRAVING FOR NASI KANDAR WAS SATISFIED

17th OCTOBER 2021 ~ It was time to get the craving for Nasi Kandar satisfied. The only place I could think of was Nasi Lemak Royale Kedah. So with a colleague, we marched off to the restaurant for lunch right after school.

We arrived after 2:00 p.m., past the lunch hour break, so there was no crowd in the restaurant.

We were both happy that we got what we wanted and I now have to check the next craving in the list since MCO in May.

MEETING AN EX-STUDENT AFTER THE MCO WAS LIFTED

16th OCTOBER 2021 ~ After the Movement Control Order [MCO] was lifted, many took the opportunity to go back to their hometowns to visit parents and family members. An ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti, Mr. Mohd. Solleh Kamal Apandi was doing the same, traveling southbound to Johor Bahru from Rawang, after almost one year not being able to do so.

We had planned a few weeks earlier to meet up via Whatsapp so he contacted to ask me out when he was in town. The place I could think of for dining in was the nearby regular Murtabak stalls in Kampung Melayu, but we did not have Murtabak this time.

Thanks Mr. Solleh for spending a little of your precious time to see this old teacher of yours. 😄

May we be rewarded with good health so we could see each other for many more years to come.
