VISITING SWISS COTTAGE SECONDARY SCHOOL, SINGAPORE [PART 4]

In our last leg of our school tour, we stopped at the canteen. There were a some stalls operated by different owners. With that, students would have more choices of food in school.

There were also Malay stall operators selling halal food for Malay students.

If the students take any eating utensils or plates from Counter 1, then they must be put back in its specific container after he/she has finished eating.

The coolest facility in the school will be none other than D'Hangout - the place for students to hang out. How the school authority manages this place was not asked but there was a student's committee put in-charge. I just wonder how would you chase students out of this place when they could just simply hang out for hours.

That should end our half day visit to Swiss Cottage Secondary School in Singapore. The teachers of SMK Dato' Jaafar definitely found the excursion very informative and educational. At least, there could be some positive ideas that we could emulate in our own school later.

the Science laboratory

they could even do wall climbing in school

A VISIT TO SWISS COTTAGE SECONDARY SCHOOL, SINGAPORE [PART 2]

31st MARCH 2017 ~ We were then taken for a tour around Swiss Cottage Secondary School. There were samples of students' art work displayed on the walls.

We then went to the staff room. The room was equipped with lockers for students to put their books/assignments to be handed in to the teachers along the way.

There were two staff rooms. The first one was smaller and there was a pantry at one end of the room.

what is that behind the curtain?
Then we went to the second staff room and we were truly impressed with what we saw. The place was not only comfortable but was also equipped with electrical appliances, it felt like home. And there were even two massage chairs there to be used. How we wish we also have something like this in our own school.

The field was in the centre of the school and it was covered with synthetic grasses. There was no chance for the kids to be covered with mud after any sports activity.

The teachers of SMK Dato' Jaafar marched on and were ready to be impressed by more things they were about to see.
