SULTAN HASANUDIN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, MAKASSAR

16th OCTOBER 2017 ~ It was finally time to bid farewell to Makassar. I got some time to spend to explore the big and modern Sultan Hasanudin International Airport. It still looked new or it was very well maintained. There were a lot of shops too, more shops if compared to other airports in Indonesia, like Medan or Lombok.

This should be the very last episode of my trip to Makassar in October 2018. I am still not sure when my next trip will be as the timing for the school holidays doesn't seem to allow me to travel. There will be fasting days and Eid celebration during the school break, for example. I will have to plan harder.

HOTEL REVIEW - QUALITY PLAZA HOTEL, MAKASSAR

Some reasons I would stay at Quality Plaza Hotel, Makassar, if I were to make a return trip:
(1) Good location, at the city centre and very near to Losari Beach and other attractions.
(2) The price was reasonable and affordable.
(3) Near to eating places.

(4) room was spacious and clean.

(5) breakfast was amazing - you could get the local delicacies there in the morning.

(6) Lastly, the staff were all friendly, and sweet too.

Highly recommended!

(WINDOW) SHOPPING AT KAREBOSI MALL

16th OCTOBER 2017 ~ This was the only shopping mall visited during my stay in Makassar. We stopped here as it was still too early to get to the airport. I was hoping to grab something from here to bring home i.e. a batik shirt. Unfortunately, I found the shirts I liked was quite pricey and I could one at a lower price in other place like Bandung. Now, when will I go to Bandung again?

I only walked around on the ground floor of the modern mall. This could be an option for visitors to shop if they are in town. I am not sure of other malls around the place.

MY MAKASSAR GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE - "RUMAH MAKAN LAE LAE"

If you like fish, and other seafood, Makassar is the place to go. I still had time to get my last meal in Makassar before being sent to the airport by the driver. Lae Lae Restaurant is located at the city centre, not far from the hotel.

There were two types of fish chosen to be grilled and the other side dishes were a plateful of fried vegetable and the compulsory grilled chili and young mango strips.

I wouldn't mind coming back to Makassar, just to try more of its food. Any followers?
