ATTENDING THE WEDDING OF A NEIGHBOUR'S DAUGHTER

My neighbour Mr. Saiful Bahrin, held a wedding reception for her daughter today. The venue was at Casadia Hall, Elfieda Bridal & Event, which was actually inside Paragon Market Place building.

I managed a friend/neighbour, Mr. Kamaruddin. to attend the reception together.

I tried to eat as less as possible as there would be another reception right after.

Done wedding reception #1 of the day. One down and one more to go.

THE OPEN HOUSES ON THE LAST DAY OF EID - PART TWO

18TH APRIL 2026    ~ The next open house I attended was held by an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, Puan Norizah Ahmad at Bandar Baru Kangkar Pulai. She has now retired too, and guess more and more people are joining the club.

My ex-secondary schoolmate of Sekolah Temenggong Abdul Rahman (2) [STAR2], Mr. Ridzuan Masrom. was also there with his wife.

The husband, Mr. Abdul Wahid [who is also a teacher] and her daughter, Miss Farah, are no strangers to me. When she was a small kid, Miss Farah used to tag along her mother to school and now she is already in college, pursuing her bachelor degree.

I could not eat that much as this was already my third house visited for the day. I was glad to get to meet Puan Norizah and her other family members after so long.

Nevertheless, I still managed to squeeze in one more Eid Open House invitation, which was held by a neighbour, Mr. Shahrul.

I was there at about 5:30 p.m. and my other friends must have come much earlier. There were not many people at that time.

I just had Chapati [forgot to take the photo] eaten with Fish Asam Pedas and two pieces of Kuih.

After attending a non-stop eating activities at four houses in one day, for sure I had grown fatter by no time. Thank God it was the last day of Eid and it was time to try and lose some weight after this.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF A NEIGHBOUR'S DAUGHTER

2nd MAY 2026     ~ My neighbour whose house was two doors away from mine held a wedding reception for his daughter. It was an obligation to attend and I managed to ask Mr. Eko, my assistant gardener, to be there with me.

We were one of the early birds, as I had to hurry for another event right after. Arriving at 11:00 a.m., the food was served hot from the pots.

The father of the bride looked too busy to be photographed together with us. We had to excuse ourselves after shaking hands and congratulating him on welcoming a new son-in-law into the family.

THE WEDDING RECEPTION ON THE 8TH DAY OF EID

28TH MARCH 2026    ~ People have already started holding wedding receptions once the fasting month has ended. The second reception attended in the month of Syawal/Eid was of the daughter of my neighbour opposite my house.

As usual when it came to reception of neighbours, I attended the event with surau-goer friends. That would be the time I socialize with them outside the surau [small scale community mosque] once in a while.

Do expect more reports of wedding receptions attended coming your way.

TWO WEDDING RECEPTIONS AT THE NEIGHBOURS' HOUSES IN ONE AFTERNOON

There were two wedding receptions that needed to be attended at neighbours' houses this afternoon.

WEDDING #1

The first one was of the neighbour opposite my house. Guess I had no reason not to attend despite the fact that we were notified only last night.

Thank God there were Surau [small community mosque] goer friends who were also attending the event.

WEDDING #2

The next reception happened four houses away from mine, right beside the Surau.

I just took the kuih [traditional dessert] and watermelon as I didn't think I could eat more. I actually had an upset stomach after that for eating too much.

This should be the very last wedding receptions before fasting starts next Thursday. What a relief!
