THE LAST PTK EXAM EVER

The above photograph is not related to the title. That was just a friend, Mr. Abdul Aziz, dropping by in the afternoon after not being able to come during Hari Raya month. It is also a piece of evidence that no preparation was made before the PTK examination that was about to happen in less than two hours.

This was the moment of truth (exaggeration). It was my fourth attempt already and the last because firstly, that was actually my last chance (new regulation) and secondly, it was announced last Friday by the Prime Minister during the tabling of the 2011 Budget that this exam is abolished starting next year, which did not make much difference. As expected the questions were tough, very tough indeed. We were expected to know about everything and anything under the sun. People said it was made that way so we could not get the grades required for a rise in the salary.

Anyway, let's just wait and see what new system will be implemented next year to assess the government servants. As long as it does not involve studying and reading, that will be alright with me.

TUESDAY MORNING EXAMINATION BLUES

gazing into the future

Already my fifth time taking the PTK exam, the third time for TK3 (competency level 3) but thank God only one paper this time. Anyway, knowing the type of questions that were about to be asked, the only word that can describe me sitting for the exam is nonchalantly (definintion: behaving calmly and not seeming interested in or worried about anything). Even my friends who were there looked too happy to come for the exam which was unbelievable. Just keep my fingers crossed but no high hope.

all's well that ends well
