ATTENDING A DEEPAVALI POTLUCK SESSION IN SCHOOL

The Principal of SMK Dato' Jaafar invited me to the potluck session in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration in school. When the big boss personally conveyed the invitation, it was hard to say "no".

As usual, there were varieties of food available and you could just eat as much as your heart desired.

However, the most interesting part was meeting [and gossiping] with old friends once again.

I also got to meet some students but I was not sure whether it was now permissible to take photos with the juvenile and publish them in social media.

HARI RAYA POTLUCK IN SCHOOL

FRIDAY, 30th August ~ We had a potluck session in school today to celebrate Eid which is already coming to its end. We had food like "nasi himpit" (compressed rice) and "lemang" (rice cooked in bamboo) with dishes like "lodeh", meat "rendang" and chicken "kuzi", and a whole lot more that I couldn't remember.

I managed to control my food intake as I had classes after recess and was quite occupied after that. I think there should be a few more potluck sessions before the long school break in November.

OF A REPLACEMENT SCHOOL DAY ON SATURDAY AND POTLUCK

Today was a replacement school day and as it was done on a Saturday.  As expected, not many students turned up. A pot luck was planned beforehand for the teachers in the staffroom and today, the plan was executed. It was always a success. The main dish chosen was "mee kari" (translate: curry noodles).

The potluck today was actually the second one done this year. The first one was carried out in conjunction with the Chinese New Year but I forgot to publish the story.

These are just the beginning people, I am sure there will be other potluck sessions coming soon. (P.S.: There is one more replacement school day in April).
