ANOTHER LUNCH TREAT FOR MY BIRTHDAY

Someone wanted to treat me lunch for birthday so a lunch was set. The chosen venue was Plaza Pelangi and I suggested we had a sandwich each at Subway.

The place was still empty when we arrived at about 12:30 p.m. but soon the place was crowded with people who came to buy food for lunch.

It was a short meeting as my friend had to go back to work once lunch break was over.

Thanks Mr. Shafiq Jaafar, an ex-colleague of SMK Dato' Jaafar, for the birthday treat and the birthday present as well. Only Allah may repay your kindness.

SANDWICHES FOR LUNCH AFTER SCHOOL

It is a 4-day school week and we will be having a longer weekends as the Prophet Muhammad's [PBUH] birthday falls on Thursday. A group of colleagues [of SMK Dato' Jaafar] decided to grab some sandwiches at Subway Restaurant in Pelangi Plaza right after school.

The place was empty when we arrived so we dominated most of the space there. In fact, the whole mall was quite empty and this similar environment could be seen in all the malls in the city. Business has been very bad and there should be some negative impact to the nation's economy.

Once all the food was gobbled down, it was time to head home before we will see each other again in school next Sunday. Thanks to the one who paid for the meal and we will try to gather again after school after this.

MOVIE REVIEW - "DEADPOOL"

"Deadpool" is a superhero movie that is not mainstream. If you have watched the movie "Kick-Ass", I would categorize "Deadpool" in the same genre. They are both not as popular as Superman, Batman or Iron Man, but they are superheroes just the same. While the other heroes try to save the world and the human beings from the evils, Deadpool is on a more personal mission. He has to find the enemy, Ajax, who has tortured, disfigured and transformed him  into an ugly person. He believed that Ajax could change his face back to normal.

The movie is quite violent and there would some scenes which are not suitable for young  viewers, so you have been warned. However, overall, the movie is mostly entertaining and funny. It is alright to see some violence actions once in a while, I have watched something more gory before at the movie.

Thanks Mr. Syazwan Shavarein, an ex-student of SMKTUN who, for the movie session, followed by the late lunch and coffee. I would never say "NO" to such activities if the time is right. What a way to wrap up the one week Chinese New Year break.

WASHINGTON DC - BATH - BUFFALO - TORONTO

The journey then continued. I took a bus from Washington DC Union Station which left the building by 12 midnight and it would be 11 hours long. Thank god I could sleep throughout the night and woke up an hour before the bus stopped at a small town called Bath in New York at 6:30 a.m. Every passenger got off the bus, either to stretch or to get their coffee. (Everyone seemed to drink coffee in this part of the world.) There were also large trucks stationed at the parking space so I guessed this was some kind of rest and recuperate (R&R) area.

The bus moved after 30 minutes was another town called Buffalo, New York where a few people alighted from the bus and a few others got onto it to continue the trip to Toronto. And at almost 12 noon, the bus finally arrived at Toronto Central Bus Station ending my 12-hour road journey. I managed to record a few videos while on the bus: the countryside and Buffalo town (and there was not a single buffalo to be seen).

You might want to know the route taken for the bus trip. When was the last time you studied Geography?
