THE VERY LAST COFFEE SESSION FOR THE YEAR 2025

The very last coffee session for the year 2025 was done with Mr. Masrizal Sayute, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, at Nasi Kandar Mamu R Restaurant in Senai.

For the year 2026, I hope there will be more frequent coffee sessions with friends and ex-students. It is good to get to talk to people as I stay at home most of the time now that I have retired.

UNPAID REVIEW OF THE RESTAURANT: Nasi Kandar Mamu R is a rebranded Mamak restaurant. The dining hall looked new, clean, modern and bright. The food [we had beef fried noodles, fries and nuggets] was surprisingly good. This would be the next meeting place for me in Senai area.

This is also the very last blog post for the year 2025. The KPI for 2026 is to update all the pending posts of 2025, which are still a lot actually. *sigh*

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYBODY!

BIDDING FAREWELL TO 2021

TODAY is the last day of the year. All in all, it is another year filled with long days of Movement Control Order because of the pandemic and how it has affected me personally in ways I cannot explain. There are less social activities and contact with other human beings and there is no way digital communication can replace real time and real space human interactions. One of the things I cannot do is travelling to see the world and more other fun thing, like training the angklung group and playing the musical instrument as well. I personally find that working life in school has been more complicated and things get really messy in many ways. I just hope I am strong enough to go through another 2 more years before signing off for my early retirement once I complete my 30-year service in teaching.

It was a solo early dinner session to bid farewell to the year 2021 at Rumah Udang. Still, I am thankful for all the things I have in life - especially the good health and friends who still "talk" to me in times when I am confined to the invisible borders we created. Let's see what 2022 has to offer and hope the coming year will be better and we can live the life that we have missed.

WELCOMING THE NEW YEAR 2011

We welcomed another new year. Just like last year, I spent my new year in school, with my colleagues. There was work to be done for the registration day of the new students of form one and remove the next morning. I always count myself lucky to have colleagues and friends who are always willing to lend helping hands when the needs arise.

The best way to get a break after all the hard work was to hang out (for a short while) at of the nearby restaurants for a late supper, and at the same time celebrating the arrival of the year 2011.

I always this blog to express my gratitude so thank you Mr. Masrizal, Mr. Nasir, Mr. Zahidi, Mr. Reynullah, Mr. Hasmidi and Mr. Hamzah for your time and energy. A friend in need is a friend indeed.

CELEBRATING NEW YEAR

with Mr. Nasir and Mr. Hisham

with Mr. Zahidi and Mr. Masrizal

I celebrated New Year but not like other people, no fireworks or people doing countdown. I had to finish my work in school for the event the next morning. My heartfelt gratitude to my friends who were willing to lend their hands and burn the midnight oil to make sure everything was completed at the eleventh hour. We even managed to go to a nearby McD for a light snack at about 12:30 a.m. Pray that I can wake up in three hours time from now.
