[DAY ONE] 2ND JUNE 2014 ~ Lucky enough, there was my ex-student who is now a resident of Tokyo to take me around and have the chance to taste real Japanese food. We went to this restaurant at Minami Osawa Station called "Ootoya".
free green tea and iced water
lunch of the day
So I had a bowl of rice and a kind of dish (forgot to ask the name) which comprised of fried fish which tasted like dory and vegetables, everything in one bowl. It tasted like our "ikan masak kicap" (fish cooked in soy sauce) but I think they used sesame sauce or oyster sauce instead. It would have tasted much better if it was spicy but I was hungry and I liked it.
There were two other times I ate out in Tokyo, so please come back for Part 2 and 3 of my gastronomic adventure in Tokyo.
[DAY 1] 2nd June 2014 ~ Minami Osawa Station is not only a train station but it also one of the terminals for the limousine bus from Narita Airport. Near the station, there is a shopping mall and Mitsui Outlet Park. Fortunately I am not an avid shopper, so I just walked around the place and actually spent a lot of time at the pet shop there. I could not really say about the prices of goods here at the outlet but I guess it should be cheaper than other places in Tokyo comparatively.
It was a working day so there were not many people around. Then we went to get our lunch at a restaurant at the station. TO BE CONTINUED...
MH089 safely landed at KLIA at about 4:30 p.m. It was a long journey. I checked out from the hotel in Hashimoto at 4:30 a.m. so I could get on the first train to Minami Osawa Station and catch the bus to Narita Airport at 5:50 a.m. The plane took off at 10:30 a.m. as scheduled.
After using the toilet where water was in abundance, I went to get my "teh tarik" at the airport food court. Too bad, "roti canai" was not available so that had to wait. I am now waiting for my next flight to bring me home to JB. The holiday is almost over. There is a pile of exam papers to be marked and I just cannot wait to start work again, as if. *sigh*
