VISITING MASJID JAMEK CINA MUSLIM IN KLANG - PART TWO

[CONTINUATION OF PART ONE]

   29TH DECEMBER 2024    ~ The mosque was not that big actually and that was one reason it was not built exactly like the original design in XI'AN. Still there were a lot to be seen and admired, walking around the holy place.

There was a Khat writing [Islamic calligraphy] demonstration done by someone [from China?]. You could get your name written in Arabic lettering and the work of art was framed for you to take home - for RM20.

We had the opportunity to sit and listen to Tuan Haji Shahrin Low, one of the committee members of the mosque [I guess], who briefed us a bit about the history and development of the Masjid Jamek Cina Muslim in Klang.

In one room, we saw 30 pieces of water gourds [water containers] contributed by the Chinese visitors from China. On each of the container, the whole chapter of al-Qur'an was written. The 30 pieces completed the whole Holy Book.

This should be one memorable outing for seven UPM TESL Class of 1993 friends and accompanied by three husbands. At least it was something different than the usual gossiping session while embarking on the gastronomic adventure. We still went for lunch at a nearby restaurant after that though [READ HERE].

Thanks to the two Klang residents who were playing hosts, and we had already made plans to come back to explore the town more.

VISITING MASJID JAMEK CINA MUSLIM IN KLANG, SELANGOR - PART ONE

   29th DECEMBER 2024    ~ The activity carried out by the few members of UPM TESL Class of 1993 was to visit Masjid Cina [TRANSLATE: Chinese Muslim Mosque] that was newly opened to public. This time we ventured out a bit to Klang to visit the Muslim's holy building for worship.

The building does not look like the conventional mosques with most of the time influenced by the architecture of the Middle East countries. From afar, one might mistake this building as something else. The mosque is actually a copy of the design of another mosque in Xi'an, China.

I was deeply impressed by the design and physical features of the whole place. It was as if I had been transported to another Muslim country on another land.

We basically walked around the place and took as many photos as possible.

THE LUNCH SESSION WITH TESL FRIENDS [AND THEIR SPOUSES] IN KLANG

   29th DECEMBER 2024   ~ My UPM TESL Class of 1993 friends [and their spouses] went to have lunch at Warong Warisan Asli. We were all drove to the place after visiting the newly-opened Masjid Cina [TRANSLATE: Chinese Mosque] in Klang. The gastronomic adventure is a must in every trip or g have.

We had two friends who were residing in Klang so they had to [involuntarily] play hosts this time.

It was not common to get ala carte meals that could be prepared on the spot for lunch, especially at my place. However, we enjoyed the dishes hot from the pans and pots straight into our plates [and then our tummies]. Everything on the table was good and I had nothing to complain.

We eventually had to leave Klang and make our way home. Thanks to the two hosts, Puan Nurhanim Hassan and Puan Anita Abdul Rahman for the company throughout the short excursion. We will be back to Klang with more people for sure.
