ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF A RELATIVE'S SON

20TH DECEMBER 2025    ~ This was the second wedding reception held by one of the few relatives whom I am still connected to, Puan Shatira Omar. The event was held at Bizmilla Wedding Event at Eco Palladium. The first wedding was even held at the same place three years ago.

I arrived early since I had two more receptions to attend right after, and the venues were far. As I did not meet anyone else that I knew of, I made my move as planned. It was good to still be remembered and included in the family big event like this. Wedding receptions is one place when we usually get to see people whom we have not seen in ages.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF MR. MUHAMMAD FAIZ

26th APRIL 2025    ~ It was the wedding reception of Mr. Mugammad Faiz Zulkifli today, another ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti. The wedding venue was at Bizmilla Hall located in Eco Palladium somewhere near Setia Tropika in Johor Bahru.

I was first greeted by the groom's younger sister who is also an ex-student.

Then there was her other classmate who had arrived earlier.

After that, I saw more ex-students in the hall, as well as two ex-colleagues.

The last time I met the groom, Mr. Muhammad Faiz, was one year ago in Mitsui Outlet, Sepang. [READ HERE]

Wishing the lovely couple a blessed and happy married life ahead filled with love and joy.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF AN EX-COLLEAGUE'S DAUGHTER

An ex-colleague of SMK Dato' Jaafar who is now the Deputy Officer of Johor Bahru District Education Office, Tuan Hj. Abd. Karim Masiran, held the very first wedding reception for the family, his daughter's. The wedding venue was Eco Palladium which should be one popular spot by now.  I decided to go early as there was another one to attend right after.

I was lucky to find and sit at the same table with two other ex-colleagues and another friend/officer of the Education Office.

As we were about to leave, there were a few more coming.

And one more with his family I met outside.

Congratulations to Tuan Haji Abd. Karim and family on the addition of the new member into the family. Hopefully I would be invited again for other receptions in the future. 😀

TWO WEDDING RECEPTIONS IN DIFFERENT HALLS OF THE SAME BUILDING

I was invited to two wedding receptions in the same building but different neighbouring halls at Bizmilla Grand Hall, Eco Palladium. That should save a lot of time and energy.

WEDDING #1

The wedding of the son of Puan Hajah Halimah Ahmad, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, Johor Bahru.

As expected, a mini reunion took place during the reception. Actually I was among the early guests and at that time, I did not see any friends and made my way out to the next reception. However, before I drove away from the venue, someone called me to get back into the hall to meet other friends and take photos.

One of the people who was there was Puan Zainab Abdul Jalil, the third Pengetua of SMK Taman Universiti.

And there were also ex-colleagues of SMK Mutiara Rini.

The two sons of Puan Hajah Halimah were my ex-students of the same school.

WEDDING #2

The second wedding just next door was of the son of a relative's I am not that sure how to describe the family tree that gets us connected. In this hall, I knew less people so there were definitely less photo sessions.

Too many wedding receptions on one hand is not that good for you as you tend to eat a lot. On the other hand, you get to see more people, or people you get to see only during this event.

It is always a pleasure to accept invitations and to get reunited with friends, relatives and ex-students.
