ATTENDING A NEIGHBOUR'S DAUGHTER'S WEDDING RECEPTION

27TH DECEMBER 2025 ~ A neighbour, Mr. Sujasmin Azis, held the wedding reception for his daughter, the first for his family. The venue was at Elfieda Bridals & Event located at Paragon Market.

I did not take rice this time as I had another reception to attend right after.

Thankfully there were other neighbours who were already there when I arrived and I managed to squeeze in for a spot at the table.

How are the father of the bride and I connected? We regularly meet at the Surau [the smaller version of the mosque] for our daily prayers.

I had to excuse myself as I had to drive to the next venue and at the same time, more people were arriving at the hall. Congratulations to Mr. Sujasmin on the arrival of the first son-in-law in the family and there will be more to come for sure.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF AN EX-COLLEAGUE'S SON/EX-STUDENT

The wedding reception attended today was held at night, at Elfieda Bridal in Paragon Market Place, something which is quite rare. Most of the time, receptions happen during day time. It was the event of Mr. Amir Syafiq who is the son of an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, Puan Maznah Ismail. Mr. Amir Syafiq also attended the same school where his mother was teaching.

As the wedding venue was not that far from home, I decided to go a bit late, after the Isya' prayer, the second prayer in the evening. As I arrived, there were friends/ex-colleagues who were about to leave the place.

I met more ex-colleagues inside the wedding hall, and ex-students as well. However, I did not manage to take photos with many as there were too many people at that time and moving around was a challenge.

Congratulations to Puan Maznah Ismail and Mr. Rohmat for the addition of the new member into the family. Hopefully I will be invited again for other similar events after this.
