MY MELAKA GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE - "MEDAN SELERA" KLEBANG A

8th SEPTEMBER 2018 ~ We needed to fill our grumbling tummy before the theatre started so we stopped at Medan Selera [translate: food court] Klebang A. That seemed to be the most convenient eating place - not crowded with people, easy parking spot and no traffic jam to get back to the Encore Melaka theatre building.

We actually had our packed "nasi minyak" given by the hosts from the wedding reception attended earlier in the afternoon in Johor Bahru. Since we already had rice, we just ordered coconut water in real coconuts and sate.

So how was the food? The coconut was a bit matured to be served - the coconut water was not sweet and the coconut flesh was already hard to be scooped with the spoon. The sate was good but unfortunately, the gravy was too thin and salty. I could not even taste the ground peanuts in the gravy. There should be like grains of smaller pieces of peanuts but the gravy was too watery.

We were full nonetheless despite the food which was not commendable. It was a waste not, want not kind of situation for us.

ANGKLUNG GROUP'S POST PERFORMANCE ACTIVITY

1st May 2016 ~ Right after the angklung performance in UTM, we went straight to Medan Selera [translate: food court] at Taman Universiti, as planned. It was quite late though - we arrived there at almost 10:30 p.m.

We decided to eat out because of a reason not worth mentioning here. Anyhow, I felt that the boys deserved to be awarded for all the hard work starting from January. So this was like our mid-year annual dinner gathering. At the same time, there were individuals who were kind enough to pay for our meal that evening.

By 11:00 p.m. almost everybody had gone back home when the parents came to pick everyone up. It must have been a very tiring day for everyone, especially when they (or we) still had to attend school the next morning. Nevertheless, I was sure all the Angklung Group members had enjoyed the delicious food served and that should conclude the day's activity with a happy note.
