THE DINNER IN SUBANG BEFORE FLYING BACK HOME

Before sending me to Subang Airport for my flight home, Mr. Ridwan Wahid, a friend of UPM TESL Class of 1993, together with his wife and daughter, took me to an early dinner at a restaurant called Maghi Raso in Subang Bestari.

While the three of them had rice/noodles and Tom Yum, I had Roti Canai with Gulai Kawah gravy instead.

I got to thanks Mr. Ridwan one more time not only for taking me out for dinner and sending me to the airport, but also for fetching me at my hotel and driving me in their car to the wedding event in Subang Jaya, as well as letting me stay at their house in Shah Alam for a few hours after that. This cycle of activities might take place again in the future though.

FOOTNOTE: The restaurant accepted credit card. I was impressed! 😀

THE GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE IN SUBANG BEFORE FLYING BACK HOME

30TH SEPTEMBER 2023    ~ Mr. Ridwan Wahid, a friend of UPM TESL Class of 1993, was kind enough to accompany and entertain me before sending me to Subang Airport. The very first stop was Suthiphong Bangkok which was not in Bangkok to get dinner Thai style. We should be among their earliest customers that day as they were just about to start their business when we arrived.

I then received a notification from Firefly, informing my flight was to be retimed, for the second time. Mr. Ridwan could just simply send me to the airport as I wouldn't mind staying there waiting but he instantaneously had other plan in mind.

He then drove to Shaaz, a Mamak restaurant which was still in Shah Alam area. I got my Masala Tea and he got his "Roti Tisu" and Teh O.

I did not expect to go on other gastronomic adventures after attending the wedding reception in the afternoon. I got to thank Mr. Ridwan again for spending his precious time with me and making sure that I was not hungry before dropping me off at the airport for the evening.

To have a kind-hearted friend is indeed one of the greatest blessings in life.

TRAVELLING ON BATIK AIR FROM SUBANG AIRPORT FOR THE FIRST TIME

I had to fly back home from Subang Airport after attending a housewarming party as it was nearer to my friend's house. The flight I had to choose this time was Batik Air, which was known as Malindo before this.

Subang Airport [a.k.a Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport] was one small airport so checking in and boarding process were done very quickly. There was no need to walk long distance to get to the gate so one could save a lot of time. The aeroplane was small so there were less people - disembarking was also very fast.

However I had an unpleasant experience flying with Batik Air. My flight to Kuala Lumpur in the morning was rescheduled [READ: cancelled] to the other flight at night. This would be very inconvenience and cause a lot of trouble to the passengers as we all had plans and important matters to attend to. I had no choice but to cancel the flight and luckily managed to get a ticket on another budget airline.

Nevertheless, I will still consider flying to and from Subang Airport again in the future, especially when I will get a travel voucher from Batik Air as a refund of the cancelled ticket.
