A LUNCH SESSION AFTER SCHOOL WITH EDUCATION OFFICERS

Two old friends who are now attached to the State and District Education Department and Office respectively asked me out for lunch as they had their meeting at a hotel nearby. They picked me up at school to the this one At first we wanted to go to this one restaurant but unfortunately it was closed. So I navigated them to Pelangi Briyani House which was not far away.

Then we continued chatting in my room at school after sending me back. Guess there was a lot to talk about after a long time not meeting each other. Thanks Mr. Abdul Aziz and Mr. Mohd. Syahril for the time, and we should do this more often.

LUNCH SESSION WITH AN EX-COLLEAGUE A DAY BEFORE RAMADHAN

An ex-colleague of SMK Mutiara Rini, Mr. Mohd. Alwi Md. Tahar was in SMK Dato' Jaafar as he was on duty for STPM [High School Certificate] Examination. Today was officially the last day of the paper and it was the best time to get him lunch outside. Coincidentally, today was also the last day before the arrival of the month of Ramadhan when Muslims start to fast.

The chosen venue was none other than Pelangi Beriani House in Taman Pelangi which is near school. Honestly speaking, I am not sure of other eating places in the school parameter so it would be best to go to a place I am familiar with and the food is commendable.

It was just a short lunch session as we both had to get back to school. I do not know when this is going to happen again but it is great to be able to see ex-colleague once in a while.

BRIYANI FOR LUNCH WITH AN EX-STUDENT CUM EX-COLLEAGUE

17th MARCH 2021 ~  An ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti who happened to be an ex-colleague of SMK Mutiara Rini, Mr. Firdaus Mohd. Noor [sorry I am not so sure of the real spelling of his name], is in school as he is on official duty for a public exam which is taking place until next week. I decided to  ask him out for lunch during break as that should be the best time to entertain a visitor in school. The venue chosen was Pelangi Beriani House which is just nearby.

It was just a short chat over lunch as there was another afternoon exam session at 2:00 p.m. so we had to hurry back to school. It sometimes takes a formal event that would allow us to get connected with old friends and acquaintances.

A LATE LUNCH WITH COLLEAGUES AFTER SCHOOL

The initial plan was to go somewhere else for our Briyani for lunch with a few male colleagues (of SMK Dato' Jaafar) but the place had been closed since MCO started. The best option was Pelangi Briyani House in Taman Pelangi which is just near the school.

This should be our very first time going out in a big group to eat outside this year. We were too busy during the first quarter of the year and then the lockdown took place, And now, we are free again to do things normal people do.

There were not many people in the restaurant when we arrived and we managed to occupy 2 tables which could accommodate 10 people. Food was good but being able to socialize outside the school fences was awesome.

There seems to be more plans coming soon for us. Just hope all the plans especially those related to the gastronomic adventure would be executed.

MY FIRST EATING OUT SESSION SINCE MCO WAS IMPOSED

Finally I had my first eating out session since Movement Control Order [MCO] was imposed back in mid March. I was in school for a short while and it was just the right time for lunch. I chose "Pelangi Beriani House" located in Taman Pelangi which is just near to my school.

The new normal everywhere: Body temperature was taken and recorded together with one's name and phone number.

It was mutton briyani for me. I had been here a few times before and the food was good every time. One place I would go for delicious briyani

I had a colleague, Mr. Syafiq, to accompany. I am looking forward to more socializing sessions with friends over food and drinks soon, once things get better from this COVID-19 pandemic. One thing I have missed the most is the gastronomic adventures I used to have with friends.
