REWARD TIME FOR STUDENTS IN MY ENGLISH CLASS AGAIN

It was time to reward the students in my Form 3 English class [of SMK Dato' Jaafar] again. The presents this time went to those who did well in the previous mid term examination and those who managed to complete the tasks given in the Google Classroom.

3 SINUS

GROUP 1: PEOPLE WHO GOT A FOR THE ENGLISH PAPER

GROUP 2: PEOPLE WHO COMPLETED THE GOOGLE CLASSROOM TASKS

3 TANGEN

THE ONE WHO SCORED THE HIGHEST MARK

GROUP 2: PEOPLE WHO COMPLETED THE GOOGLE CLASSROOM TASKS

There should be one more time for the students to get presents from me. I wonder what I have done would motivate them.

REWARD TIME FOR STUDENTS IN MY ENGLISH CLASSES

It was time to give away rewards to two groups of students in classes which I teach English, namely 3 Sin and 3 Tan of SMK Dato' Jaafar.

The first group comprised of students who scored A for their First Test for English many months ago.

While the second group were students who managed to complete the many English exercises given in their Google Classroom group from March to June.

I hope this small gesture could motivate these boys to work harder and be more serious with the English lessons. There should be more rewards awaiting after the Mid Term Exam.

YOU SHALL REAP WHAT YOU SOW

It was time to reward students in my form 3 English class in school, SMK Dato' Jaafar.

First, there are people who got A's for their Mid-year English Paper Assessment. One student was absent today.

Then, students who managed to complete all the online exercises given in Google Classroom were also given rewards. Two people were absent from one of the classes.

All the presents were bought from Eco Shop but I hope they are happy to reap what they have sown.

Congratulations everybody. Keep up the good work.

INTRODUCING ABC KAMPUNG MELAYU TO TWO VISITORS

24th NOVEMBER 2018 ~ Someone from Kuala Lumpur was in Johor Bahru attending his friends' weddings. Even though he studied here in UTM many years ago, he had never tried the famous Kampung Melayu ABC, a short form of "Air Batu Campur" [translate: mixed (ingredients) shaved ice].

So how am I related to Mr. Amirul? He is an ex-student of my English class in UTM back in the second half of 2011, when I taught part-time there. We sometimes met to play ping pong during weekend and are still connected on Facebook. He was here with another friend whom I had not met before, Mr. Irfan.

It was really a very short gathering but hopefully there will be a next time.

MY LAST CLASSES WITH FORM 3 STUDENTS OF ASRAMA SEMAI BAKTI FELDA

The time had finally come to end the English classes for the form 3 students at Asrama Semai Bakti Felda, Johor Bahru. This year I had to teach two classes - 3B (all boys) and 3A+B (boys & girls). With only 2 hours allocated for the meetings and too many students at one time in one class, I don't think I could remember the many of their names yet.

CLASS 3A+B
8th October 2016

CLASS 3B
9th October 2016

The PT3 exam had already ended so I wish them all the very best of luck for the upcoming results. I just hoped that they had tried their very best while answering the exam questions and the coaching sessions from January until October had helped them a little, if not a lot.

MY LAST CLASS WITH THE FIRST BATCH OF PT3 STUDENTS AT ASRAMA FELDA

With just a few more hours remaining before these boys sit for their English PT3 paper, I came to class to see if they had anything to ask. I was taking the responsibility of coaching 16 boys at Asrama Semai Bakti Felda for this year which required a lot of patience and determination. They are the first batch of students who are now sitting for the PT3 examination with a format different from the PMR paper.

I wish them the very best of luck. So we will just wait and see the fruits of our labour in December.

"MR. NOBODY" REPRODUCED

This was another assigned task to the Form One students from Set A1 English class. It could be a simple thing to do but some people did put a lot of effort in producing their best piece of work. There is no more putting up paper for display on the noticeboard now. To applaud for the students' hard-work and determination, these are the selected ones that have made their way into my blog. Congratulations people, keep up the good work!

M. SHANmughalingam's "HEIR CONDITIONING" REPRODUCED

The second poem studied in class for my form 2(Set A1) students and again, they were asked to reproduce the poem by adding in pictures and colours to the text or any other way to make it more interesting (read: creativity). As promised, the ones that I found impressive are published in my blog. Congratulations for a job well done! However, I am sorry I was in a hurry so I did not put the names of the owners of the work of art but I am sure you know which one is yours.
