MOVIE REVIEW - "DOWNSIZED"

What should you do to overcome the problem of overpopulation and the rising cost of living? Downsize people and everything all around them. That is basically what the movie is about. Paul and his wife decided to shrink themselves and move to Leisureland, the new place for small people who have gone through the process of making themselves smaller. Just imagine Lilliput in Gulliver's Travel. Unfortunately for Paul, after he has successfully shrunk himself, he gets a phone call from the wife, telling him she could not continue with what they have planned and has to leave him on his own. Everything was too late for Paul as once one gets oneself dwarfed, it is irreversible.

Most of the scenes of the movie are funny and I must say I enjoy the story BUT the ending is somehow does not do justice to such an amazing scientific/futuristic theme. For Matt Damon fans, you can see the more realistic and "ugly" Matt Damon as an ordinary person, and not as a larger-than-life movie star. I would still recommend this movie as there is no other interesting films on show at the moment.

MOVIE REVIEW - "MARTIAN"

What would you do when you found out that your friends who were the crew of the spaceship had left you on planet Mars?

You have to watch the movie to find out the answer.

Another space adventure genre, similar to "Gravity" and "Interstellar" which I have also watched. Too much Physics and Mathematics, I went home feeling nauseous _ I just couldn't take it. This should be one movie you have to watch, to free yourself from either the mundane love story with a lot of sadness or the one in which hundreds of people would be killed in just two hours.

I wonder whether Matt Damon could win an Oscar for his role in this film, like Sandra Bullock had done in "Gravity".

MOVIE REVIEW - "2 GUNS"

This movie contains a lot of shooting, fighting, kicking, bomb exploding, chasing, running, shouting, cursing, speeding, etc. One word to describe: VIOLENCE in capital letters. At the same time, the plot is a bit confusing (for me). Two people, one a DEA (drug enforcement administration - I have to google for this) officer while the other one a navy man, who work together to rob a bank. How suddenly they become partner in crime is not clear and why the CIA or the Navy would want the money of a drug dealer king, I am not sure. And the confusion continues right until the end.

But if you are a Matt Damon or Denzel Washington die-hard fan, then you should watch this movie and get ready to be intoxicated. Still, you have been warned - not suitable kids or those who are not matured enough for this kind of genre.
