GETTING MY THIRD VACCINATION BOOSTER SHOT

The appointment for my third booster shot appeared on MySejahtera and the vaccination centre was at City Plaza. I went there right after school which was just nearby and I was happy to no end to see there was no crowd at all at the building entrance. Everything went smoothly, the queue was very short and everything was over less than 15 minutes.

I was here on Friday for my sister's appointment in the morning. There was a large crowd and things were a bit chaotic at first. THE REASON: people did not follow the exact appointment time. I found out two people whose appointments were in the afternoon were already joining others at 10:00 a.m.

Let's now pray that I will not get any side effects from the injection and will be safe from the dreaded C19 in the long run. Prevention is better than cure.

THE VACCINATION PROGRAMME IN SCHOOL

The nationwide vaccination programme for SMK Dato' Jaafar was carried out today. The target was the younger generation of form 1 - form 5 students for their first dose of Pfizer vaccine.

The session started at 8:30 a.m. and the whole vaccination process was done by the staff of the government health clinic while other non-medical activities were handled by the teachers.

At the same time, there were observers from the State/District Education Department and the Police who came to see if the programme was running smoothly.

Many students came to receive their first dose jabs which was a good indication that they were ready to be protected and stay healthy.

All the counters were closed by 4:00 p.m. It had been one tiring working day after the long work-from-home sessions. Now we have to get ready for the second dose vaccination session in three weeks time.

GETTING MY SECOND DOSE OF VACCINATION

After 3 weeks, I revisited Taman Universiti Community Hall to get my second dose of vaccination against C-19.

I arrived at about 2:00 p.m. and there was no queue at all and there was no opportunity to snap photos except in the last section where we had to wait a few minutes after given the injection. It was all over in less than 20 minutes.

I have done my responsibility to protect myself and the community and let's just hope things will get better soon so that we could continue doing all the things we love before this.

GETTING MY FIRST DOSE OF C-19 VACCINATION

While my other friends in other parts of Malaysia had received at least their first dose of C-19 vaccination, I was the one who still checked my MySejahtera Apps from time to time and wondered when my time would come. Eventually, Puan Wendy Chan, a friend of my TESL UPM group, personally whatsapp-ed me and suggested I tried updating the information in the apps as she got her appointment after doing that. I simply obeyed without setting any high hope, and guess what happened? I updated the apps at 2:30 p.m. and at 9:30 p.m. a message arrived informing that my vaccination date was going to be the very next day.

[WARNING: You are not allowed to take photos in the hall] 😀

I arrived at the PPV centre at 2:00 p.m. and went straight to the first station. Someone collected people's identity cards and shortly after, names were called to go the second station.

It was a short wait at the second station before we were instructed to move to the third counter. I spent longer time at this spot as the person at the table was my ex-student so we chit-chatted. Too bad I couldn't take a selfie with her. Finally I was asked to get into a cubicle for the injection. The nurse should be an expert - I did not feel anything at all and suddenly it was all over. Or perhaps, the layer of fat on the skin functioned well. And I was given Pfizer by the way.

The last station was the spot where we had to wait for a few minutes just for observation for any adverse effect. Then we were let free.

The last step was the customary photo session outside the hall. I had to find someone to get my photos taken and I took his in return. Everything was over in about 30 minutes. The process was systematic and smooth and the people had done a very good job. Congratulations!

And here are the steps that you could try on MySejahtera apps. It worked for me to get my vaccination appointment so you could try your luck too.
