ATTENDING PUAN JAMIAH'S SON'S WEDDING RECEPTION

8th AUGUST 2018 ~ I was at Bandar Dato' Onn Mosque today, attending the wedding reception of Puan Jamiah Zainal's son. I was there early, accompanied by an ex-student of SMKTUN, Mr. Hamzah Hamdan as were actually on our way to Melaka.

Puan Jamiah is an English teacher who used to work together in a few occasions assignments and we clicked right away. She is currently teaching in SMK Taman Impian Emas.

Thanks Puan Jamiah for inviting. Hope to see you again in similar events in the future.

PPD JOHOR BAHRU MARCHING COMPETITION (G.O. CATEGORY) 2014 - DAY 2

The competition continued today with the boys category. The good news was that there were only SEVEN teams competing which meant everything could be finished much earlier than yesterday. Nevertheless, as expected, it was a heavy downpour so the event ended at about 2:00 p.m.

So that was it for this year's marching competition. As it was cloudy and raining these two days, I am quite sure I have maintained my fair and lovely complexion even though I had to work in the open. But the sad thing is, we have not sent the "Kadet Bomba" team for the marching competition for two consecutive years (we used to secure the first runner-up all the time) and I guess it is time for us to start working again.

PPD JOHOR BAHRU MARCHING COMPETITION (G.O. CATEGORY) 2014 - DAY 1

PPD Johor Bahru marching competition for the girls' G.O. (Government Organization) category was held today at SMK Taman Impian Emas, Johor Bahru. Again, I was assigned to be one of the judges for the event. There were 13 girls team participating (which as a relief). We could have finished much earlier but it suddenly rained heavily today after such a long time.

The competition will continue tomorrow with boys' category. Praying for a good weather so everything can be finished earlier and I heard there will be only nine teams competing. Then, hopefully it will rain again after that.

MARCHING COMPETITION (BOYS' GO CATEGORY} DISTRICT LEVEL 2012

The marching competition for government organization boys' category was held today at the same venue, SMK Taman Impian Emas. Fortunately, only six schools took part so everything could be done in just a short time.

We were the (first) runner up again and we had to admit the winner was better than us, especially with all the glaring mistakes that the team made during the performance.

Congratulations to all the Kadet Bomba boys for winning the second place and I know you had worked real hard for this. I was happy that we still managed to send a team for the district level, and hopefully the tradition will continue on. Thanks to all the seniors for the endless support given, especially for training the group. There were people who went to the extent of skipping class from college and not going to work just to be together with the team. The parents had also given us the support and this year, there were parents who volunteered to cook for us for the training and the competition day, and I considered myself really lucky this year.

Even though the competition was already over, we should start training the juniors to prepare for next year's platoon. It is not as easy as you people out there think to put 30 over people together as a team. It requires determination and patience, a lot of them the whole season through.

MARCHING COMPETITION (GIRLS' GO CATEGORY} DISTRICT LEVEL 2012

Today was the second day judging the marching competition. Sitting under the hot sun for hours had already given me some tan and there was still one more day to go.

Today's category was for girls' government organization (GO) held in SMK Taman Impian Emas but SMKTUN did not take part this time. Luckily there were only 10 schools participating (the original number was 16) so everything ended quite early.

By the way, CONGRATULATIONS to the school's Boys Scouts and girls' St. John's Ambulance for emerging the first runner up and champion in their respective categories today and yesterday. This in a way has created some sort of pressure to the Kadet Bomba boys who will be taking part in the competition this Thursday.
