BACK TO OUR SECRET MEETING PLACE AFTER THE LONG HOURS OF MEETING

Sitting for long hours in a meeting is definitely something most people hate. Participants dozing off or focusing more on their electronic gadgets are a common sight. We will always find a way to chase the stress away and the best one is none other than to eat.

There is this Secret Recipe outlet in Danga City Mall that we like to visit as there are not many people. However, when we arrived today, we were told the kitchen staff were in yet so we could only order cakes and pastries. I could not even get my regular dose of coffee and had to settle for a glass of strawberry milkshake.

Luckily we were told that they were ready to prepare real food (read: lunch) after we had finished our appetizer cum dessert.

There is no way for me to lose weight with this kind of regular activity. Thanks to Puan Mazzelina Mahmood and Puan Koh Poh Tan for sticking to the war cry: Let's get fat together.

VISITING MALAYSIA INTERNATIONAL INDUSTRIAL MACHINERY EXPO

8th October 2016 ~ I was at Danga City Mall for another reason. I decided to visit Malaysia International Industrial Machinery Expo as I had nothing else to do. First I had to register at the counter and a special tag with my name printed on it was given. Suddenly I felt that I was a very important person, someone like a representative from a big company and with a mission to order something really expensive.

I surprisingly found the exhibition very interesting as I got to see some machine that could make work easier and business flourish. For example, there were some machine that could do embroidery for motives which were intricate and complicated.

You could also produce snacks like the traditional "kuih ros" or "kuih kapit" (love letters) if you have the machine. The machine might be costly but just imagine the labour cost it could cut down and the profit that you could make. (precaution: do not count your chickens before they are hatched).

Too bad there were not many companies doing the promotion so I just spent a short time there. Then there were these two bags that were given free (and a pen too) at the entrance. Don't we all love these free bags until at one time there are just too many of them, we don't know what to with them anymore.

VISITING A BOOK FAIR AT DANGA CITY MALL

After attending an official briefing at the District Education Office, I decided to drop by at a book fair held at Danga City Mall which was just nearby.  It was a fair done by Popular Bookstore.

I had a good walk in the hall. And I did not buy any books at all.

I still have a mountain of books at home, bought last year and two years ago, still remained to be picked and read.

MEETING MR. BIG BAD WOLF FOR THE THIRD TIME

Sunday, 8th June 2014 ~ I was initially here at Danga City Mall to get books for my English classes. Today was the last day of the sale. The offer was good and I ended up buying a few books for myself. I still have books on the shelves at home that are waiting to be read for quite some time but the temptation to buy more was just too strong to resist.

Books for my English classes...

... and books for me.

I should start reading again. But there are just too many other things to do most of the time. *sigh*

MEETING MR. BIG BAD WOLF, AGAIN

Mr. Big Bad Wolf is now in town. I went to meet him in Kuala Lumpur in December last year. I didn't know he would be coming to Johor Bahru.

The initial plan was just to go and have a look at what would be on sale and I ended up buying 14 books which cost me RM114. The temptation was just too strong. So now I can go back into my cave, finish reading all the books I have and come out to say the daylight after five years.
