MY BIRTHDAY BROWNIES ARRIVED ONE DAY EARLIER

A box of brownies was sent to me this afternoon, from a friend of UPM TESL class of 1993. It was a day earlier but I was not complaining. Good thing I could bring the brownies to school tomorrow to be shared with other friends.

Thanks a million Puan Zarinamahnum Haji Alias for the kind thought. Only Allah may repay your kindness.

THE BOX OF SWEET SURPRISE THAT ARRIVED ON THE 12th DAY OF EID

When I was thinking of what to write in my blog which had been abandoned for a few days, another box of sweet surprise was delivered to me. Another kind soul, Puan Rozaina Abd. Latif, a friend of UPM TESL class of 1993 clan who is now residing in Melaka, got this box of Mamasab brownies sent to my house on the 12th day of Eid.

Puan Rozaina, a.k.a Kak Kaynah, used to do Eid house visit every year with her husband but that could not be done this year because of the partial MCO. I guess the box of sweet and chocolaty brownies was in a way to replace the annual gathering that we miss this time.

Thanks again my friend for the kind thought. Once this pandemic is over, or when the partial lockdown is lifted, we should be able to meet again.

A BOX OF SWEET SURPRISE THAT ARRIVED AT MY DOORSTEP

When I feel I have already lost some weight after the fasting month, a box of sweet surprise arrived at my doorstep this evening. Overflowing with creamy and delectable chocolate, I got to share this with a few other people in school tomorrow. There is no better way to get fat than to find other friends to get fat together. 😊

A million thanks to Puan Farah Sabina Safiai, a friend of UPM TESL class of 1993, for her kind thought. She is now residing in Seremban but still managed to get the brownies sent to me. I wish I could send her something else in return but I might have to find another suitable time to do that. Perhaps that will be when she gets to visit her in-law's family who is actually staying at the end of the same stretch of the main road of my house.

GETTING A YEAR YOUNGER AND STILL COUNTING

It was a big relief when there was no delivery boy/girl coming to school bringing any surprise bouquet with balloons on my birthday. However, I was asked by a friend for a meet up after school. So we chose KFC at Setia Tropika which was the middle meeting point for us.

Puan Yusidah Md. Yusof and Puan Nadzlina Daud, ex-colleagues of SMK Taman Universiti, were  already waiting in the restaurant, ready with their box of brownies and chocolate bouquet and balloons, from a bunch of old friends.

There were no words to describe how lucky I was to still be remembered on my birthday after being separated for about 5 years. I really appreciate the birthday gift sent and I appreciate the friendship the most.

Thanks again, my friends. My heartfelt gratitude goes to:
Pn. Arba'iyah Ahmad, Pn. Asriyah Bachok, Pn. Noor Akmal, Pn. Norazilah Mashadi, Pn. Fauziah Nawi, Pn. Suriani Rashib, Pn. Hamisah Abdullah, Pn. Rahmah Abdullah, Pn. Zainab Mohamad, Pn. Zuerdiana Manaf, Pn. Aziah Jamion, Pn. Muhaini, Pn. Zabedah Abd. Jalil, Pn. Nor'asyikin Abd. Malek, Pn. Yusidah Md. Yusof, Pn. Ruhaidah Tamat, Pn.Mahnum Ali, Pn. Suzana Sidek, Pn. Maznah Ismail, Pn. Zaiti Ismail, Pn. Baderah Peri, Pn. Nik Rozita, Pn. Zah Kadir and Pn. Nadzlina Daud.

Only Allah may repay your kindness.

MY HOMETOWN GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE - "LEPAK PLACE" AT TAMAN IMPIAN EMAS

I got my birthday brownies
13th OCTOBER 2018 ~ Someone wanted to try the hipster cafe named "Lepak Place" at Taman Impian Emas so we met there for dinner. It was the first time for everybody and we just chose our food randomly by looking at the menu. There were many people inside the restaurant which should be a good indicator of whether the food would be good or not.

So here is my brief personal pictorial comments of the food and drinks bought that evening.

my carrot juice: sugar level a bit too low,
tasteless but must be healthier

my Maryland fried udon:
too hot and spicy
spaghetti bolognese: the tomato puree
was too dominant
chicken chop: the chicken tasted like KFC

another chicken chop dish

I was there with three ex-students of SMK Taman Universiti who were kind enough to invite me over for dinner. That should be more important than the food and place chosen in the first place. I guess I have to sincerely thank them for the birthday treat and the birthday brownies, and most importantly for the company and time.

Ms. Khaulah Abd. Rahim, Mr. Huzaifah Abd. Rahim (they are siblings) and Ms. Noorul Nashuha Atan (who came back to JB from KL for work-related matter), only Allah may repay your good deeds and kindness and I pray that you will all be blessed with prosperity, good health and happiness.

Please plan for our next gastronomic adventure soon.
