STANDING IN THE MIDDLE OF A LOTUS FARM

14th MARCH 2016 ~ I saw lotus farms on one side of the road on the way to Tonle Sap Lake. The tuk tuk driver stopped without being asked on the way back so that we could stand in the middle of the farm and see the lotus flowers real close.

The pond was located next to a paddy field so I guessed it was originally a paddy field which was converted to become a lotus farm.

My wild guess, the lotus farm produced both the flowers and seeds. I tried to google for more information but could not find any. I would have to google more.

EXPLORING HALLIM PARK IN JEJU ISLAND - PART ONE

8th JUNE 2015 ~ Coming out of the cave back into the bright daylight, it was time to explore Hallim Park, some sort of a botanic garden. It was actually a big place so visitors were asked to choose a few spots in the park. So we went to the bird sanctuary where birds were kept in captivity in aviaries.

There were also live lotus plants that were put in large (plastic) containers and the flowers were of different colours and sizes.
