   27th DECEMBER 2025    ~ It was another ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti holding his wedding reception. Mr. Syazwan Ansar had the event at Kolej Perdana, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

As usual, there were a few familiar faces of ex-students whom I met there and only two ex-colleagues.

Congratulations Mr. Syazwan and wife, and may your days be filled with love and happiness throughout.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF AN EX-COLLEAGUE'S SON

It is quite rare for the Malay community to hold wedding receptions on weekdays. However, today was a public holiday in conjunctions with Malaysia Day and I received an invitation from an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti. Mr. Kamil Kassim held the reception for his son at Kolej Perdana Hall in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia [UTM].

The father of the groom was the only person I knew of all the people in the hall so it was only a short stay. It was kind enough of him top still invite me to the reception even though we were not in contact anymore.

Earlier, at the entrance of the university, I was greeted by an ex-student of SMK Gelang Patah, the first school where I was posted as a teacher. Mr. Norzaiham Katelan is currently the security officer attached to the institution. I am always happy when an ex-student takes the effort to say "hi" and introduce himself/herself.

That should be a wedding receptions hat trick - overeating continuously for three consecutive days.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF MISS ATHIRAH AND MR SAIFUDDIN

I was invited by Puan Noorulhuda Zakaria, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, to her daughter's wedding reception, Miss Athirah Abdul Samad, who happens to be an ex-student of the same school. Her newly-wedded partner was Mr. Saifuddin Abd. Rahim, who is her schoolmate, her senior of two years. It's a small world after all.

As I arrived at the venue, Kolej Perdana in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, I was greeted by two ex-students who were about the leave the place.

There were more people to meet and greet inside the hall.

Congratulations Puan Noorulhuda and family on the addition of another new member into the family.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF MR. MUHAMMAD AMIN ROSLI

This should be the very first wedding reception attended for the year 2024. It was the wedding of an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti, Mr. Muhammad Amin bin Rosli. His mother, Puan Marina Abdullah, is also an ex-colleague of the same school. The most interesting thing, four of his other siblings also attended the same school so I got to know almost everybody in the family.

I just discovered Mr. Muhammad Amin wedded his own schoolmate which happens to be his junior and also his sister's classmate.

I arrived at Kolej Perdana Hall, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, at about 3:00 p.m. but still managed to meet quite a number of people from SMK Taman Universiti.

Congratulations Mr. Muhammad Amin and Ms. Siti Aisyah Humaira Musa, wishing both of you life filled with love and joy. Thank you Puan Marina Abdullah for inviting me, and hope to be invited again for many more wedding receptions to come in the future.
