Thanks to both my friends for the cards. Looking forward to receiving more cards from other people, hopefully.

TWO MORE EID GREETING CARDS ARRIVED FOR 1445H

Two Eid cards arrived yesterday [15th April 2024], should be my 3rd and 4th cards this year. Both were from ex-classmates of Budiman Class of SMS Muar, Puan Hafizah Mohd. Noor and Puan Sapura Mohd. Salehan.

Thank you my friends for the kind thought. Guess we were getting lesser cards this year but the tradition must go on.

I got 4 cards this year, which was better than none.

THE ARRIVAL OF MY FIRST EID GREETING CARD FOR 1445H

My first Eid greeting card arrived today. It was from Mr. Mohd. Azman Awang, a friend of UPM TESL Class of 1993 and he is one regular Eid well-wisher the traditional way.

Thanks Mr. Azman for the kind thought. My card for you should be on its way. I just posted it and a few others this afternoon.

THE EID CARD FROM NEW ZEALAND

The card that traveled thousand of kilometres across the ocean, all the way from New Zealand.

Thanks to my ex-classmate of Budiman [of SMS Muar], Puan Radiah Othman, for her kind thought. It has been an annual activity for a few of us once a year. May the friendship flourish with this gesture and distance may not separate us.

MY FIRST TWO EID GREETING CARDS ARRIVED TODAY

The tradition is still alive! Two Eid greeting cards were in my [physical] mail box and I was excited to no end.

The first one was from Puan Sapura Md. Salehan, my ex-Budiman classmate of SMS Muar. While the other one was from Mr. Mohd. Azman Awang, a member of my UPM TESL class of 1993. Thank you my friends for the lovely cards and most importantly, the kind thoughts.

I only managed to write and post a few cards for my friends. I will have to do this by this weekend and that is the KPI I will have to achieve by next Sunday.

EIGHT DAYS BEFORE THE ARRIVAL OF EID

24th APRIL 2022 ~ Four Eid cards were found in my mailbox when I arrived home from school. Three were from friends of UPM TESL class of 1993 while the other one was from an ex-classmate/schoolmate of Budiman SMS Muar class of 1986.

I am not expecting everyone to reply to all the cards sent out to them but the few that were posted to me really made my day. It just reminds me the good old time when we were all eagerly waiting for Mr. Postman to stop by and deliver Eid cards at home.
Thanks a lot my friends for keeping the tradition alive.

MY FIRST EID GREETING CARD FOR 1443H ARRIVED

My very first [real] Eid greeting card for 1443H arrived in my [real] mailbox today.

Thanks to Mr. Mohd. Azman Awang, a friend of UPM TESL Class of 1993, for being the first one to send the card and keep the tradition alive.

I am not expecting for more to arrive though. People seem not to do this anymore. 😁

ANOTHER EID CARD FOR THIS YEAR

25th MAY 2021 ~ Another Eid card arrived for me on the 13th day of the month. As the saying goes: better late than never. Thanks to my ex-classmate of SMS Muar, Mr. Abdul Razak Sapian, who still took the effort in replying to the card I sent earlier to him. May we continue sending greeting cards for this occasion for many more years to come.

TWO MORE EID CARDS ARRIVED TODAY

Two more cards arrived on the 6th day of Eid. Guess it is never too late to send friends greeting cards for the festive season - really it is the thought that counts.

Thanks to Puan Rozana Ab. Manap, my ex-classmate of SMS Muar, and Puan Salmiah Mohd. Ghazali, a friend of UPM TESL class of 1993, for their kind gestures. Your determination to get the cards delivered is very much appreciated.

RAMADHAN IS THE MONTH OF GIVING - PART TWO

I was contacted by the courier man when I was in school telling me there was a parcel waiting for me at the front door.

The unboxing process began as soon as I arrived home and it was a huge relief when there was an accompanying card stating who was the sender so I didn't have to figure out who was the one.

From the packaging of these items, they were definitely not Eid cookies this time.

Guess it is going to be a very cheesy Eid celebration this time, literally speaking. Thank to Puan Rozida Mohd. Ramli, a friend of the UPM TESL class of 1993 for the package, sent all the way from Jasin, Melaka. I had promised her to do a review on the [new] products sent in my blog.

Then there was this Eid card, also from a friend of UPM TESL group, Puan Sakinah Mohd. Ismail and her husband, daughter and two cats - from Seremban. For one thing, I got more Eid cards this year if compared to last year.

Lastly, an ex-student [of SMK Taman Universiti] who is now a colleague [at SMK Dato' Jaafar], Mr. Christopher Emmanuel Raj, handed over a box of [expensive] chocolates in school. I think I have already shed a few kilogrammes in this fasting month but with all the food given, the glimmer of hope seems to fade away. 😁

Thanks everyone for your kind thought and generosity. May all of us be blessed abundantly because of our good deeds in this holy month of Ramadhan.

and always receive without forgetting."

MY SECOND RAYA CARD HAS ARRIVED

My second Raya [Eid] card arrived last week and that was the first one from the TESL clan. I am not expecting to receive more as people these days are either too busy to take the trouble to get a card posted or they have totally switched to the electronic method by sending Eid wishes on social media or via communication apps.

Thanks a lot Mr. Mohd. Azman Awang (and wife) for the card which is now considered a rare item. He is of the few people in the group who has been sending Eid cards without fail every year. May we be able to continue this tradition for many more years to come.

MY FIRST RAYA CARD FOR THIS YEAR HAS ARRIVED

The very first Eid greeting card for this year, 1442 Hijrah, has arrived. Thanks to my ex-classmate of Budiman class of SMK Sains Muar, Puan Hafizah Mohd. Noor, for the kind thought. Yours is on its way and hope it will arrive soon in your real mailbox. May the tradition of sending Eid greeting card continue for many more years to come.

A POSTCARD FROM POLAND ARRIVED TODAY

A postcard cum Eid greeting card arrived today, all the way from Poland. The card had traveled thousand of kilometres before reaching. All the effort and time spent to send a card from the other side of the world is very much appreciated. I guess I must be the lucky one to be chosen to get a postcard.

Thanks a lot Miss Jenne Lee and the husband for the kind thought. The card not only made my day, but it will also be cherished and remembered for a long time.

*NOTE: Miss Jenne is an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti. She then went to pursue her PhD in Liverpool UK and is about to graduate.

MY FIRST EID GREETING CARD FOR 1440H HAS ARRIVED

On the 8th day of the fasting month of Ramadhan, the first Eid greeting card for 1449H arrived in my mailbox. The tradition of sending greeting cards for the festive season is still going to continue this year.

On the other hand, I have not written a single card yet. However, I already bought the cards and the stamps last week. And I am now telling this to myself:  I must finish writing and then send the cards by this weekend.

Thank you Mr. Mohd. Azman Awang, my UPM TESL coursemate and the wife, Puan Azalina Ahmad Bakri, for the kind thoughts. Will be reaching both of you via snail mail real soon.

MY FIRST EID GREETING CARD FINALLY ARRIVED

My very first Eid greeting card of the year 1439H arrived on Friday, 25th May. Thanks to Mr. Azman Awang and wife, Puan Azalina Ahmad Bakri, (both UPM unimates) for the kind thought.

Hoping for more cards to arrive soon from friends. That was what I used to do long time ago, waiting for the postman or checking the mailbox every time arriving home from school/work.

"KAD RAYA" PROJECT 3.0

This should be the third year for us, members of  UPM TESL class of 1993, to carry out the annual project of sending real greeting cards to celebrate Eid. There were less cards arriving this year and I think people got too busy this time.

Another group participating was my Budiman classmates of SMS Muar class of 1986 and this was the second time for us doing this.

Sending greeting cards is not as easy as you think. First, you need to buy the cards and write them. Second, you have to go to the post office, buy and stick the stamps on the envelopes before posting them to the loved ones. It might look simple but it requires a lot of determination and postponing any of the steps mentioned above could leave all the cards not being sent away at all.

Thanks to my friends for all the lovely "Kad Raya" and we shall continue doing this for many more years to come.

MY FIRST RAYA (EID) CARD FOR 1438H ARRIVED TODAY

The "kad raya (eid card) project" among friends continues this year. The first card arrived today. Thanks to Mr. Azman Awang, from my UPM TESL group, and the wife, Puan Azalina, for all the effort and kind thought.

I am yet to start writing my cards for my friends but and I feel so lazy motivated now to do that.

EID GREETING CARDS PROJECT - FRIENDS OF UPM TESL GROUP

Another group that was involved in the Eid greeting cards project is the people from UPM TESL group. This was also our second year sending out cards to friends who are staying far away (mostly) from each other.

To those who are not familiar to the card-sending activity, here are the steps involved:
[1] buy greeting cards.
[2] write the cards (we used to write long messages like letters and sometimes "pantun" ~ Malay rhythmic prose).
[3] write the addresses on the envelopes.
[4] go to the post office.
[5] buy stamps.
[6] stick the stamps on the envelopes.
[7] post the cards.

With the long chain of process involved, the extra effort should in a way prove how one values the friendship.

the sender of this self-made card remains a mystery

To all my friends, your determination to make this project a success is very much appreciated. Thanks a lot from the bottom of my heart. Hopefully we will continue sending out not just cards and well wishes, but also love and kind thoughts to each other. *muah muah*
