BOYS' DAY OUT

I had not had the time to pamper myself for a movie treat as fasting and Eid months had made me too occupied. However, today I managed to get away from all the busy routines, even though things did not go well as we had planned earlier. I should have left school at 2:00 p.m. but the event only finished by 3.30 p.m. I drove to AEON Bukit Indah and the traffic was clear, and reached there 20 minutes later. We almost missed the screening of the movie as the time was not that suitable - or we would have to perform our Maghrib prayers.

We still chose the 5:15 p.m. slot and managed to go for our prayer once the movie ended. We even had had our coffee before and dinner right after the show.

Thanks Mr. Hamzah Hamdan [SMKTUN alumni SPM batch 2006] for the time and company. We (note the pronoun "we") still have one more set of movie tickets to redeem soon.

AN OUTING AND A TREAT FOR TEACHERS' DAY

Someone was telling that he did not have the time to go buy me a present for Teachers' Day. Instead, he wanted to give me a treat during an outing. Did I have a choice to say "no"?

Some people have little money so they give small presents. Some people have a bit more so they give bigger ones. However, some people they just don't care. THANKS Syazwan for the treat, you are one of the people who has made me think life as a teacher is not that bad after all.

GOING WESTERN FOR ONCE (AGAIN)

14th JANUARY ~ Someone was kind enough to give me a treat after working during the school holidays. While many was quite hesitant every time I tested the water, Azry straightaway asked "when" and "where". So never say "NO" for a free meal and great company.

The host finally chose Secret Recipe in Jusco Bukit Indah as we were going western this time. The food on the table was aplenty it seemed but the two slices of cake were FREE of charge as someone was using his Citibank card first before getting back the reimbursement. (Luckily we checked the promo catalogue on display for the offer).

kids nowadays *sigh*

At one time, I saw this one girl smiling gleefully from afar and I first thought she was about to lure me to buy the donuts. Actually she was an ex-student whom I taught when she was in form one and two (READ: famous); and that was a big relief I did not have to buy any donuts.

The outing was a brief one but please do not spend all the remaining money that you have Azry. We can go always go out again if time permits for another treat :). Thanks to Azry for the treat and not forgetting Asyraf for the fun time.

SENDING OFF LUNCH AT NANDO'S

2nd January ~ This actually had been planned much much earlier but we did not have the chance to do it. However, this time there was a strong reason - it was now or never. Someone is going to SM Teknik Gombak (Gombak?) to continue his upper secondary studies there next week so this was in a way a formal event to say "goodbye". Originally it was supposed to be in Secret Recipe but the host had a change of mind and chose to go Mexican. The first and last time I ate in Nando's Restaurant was many many years ago in Kuala Lumpur.

Even though Syazwan will be going away, I hope that we could still meet once in a while. Or is he going to disappear into thin air like many others? Anyway, good luck to Syazwan at his new school and hope he will enjoy his new life over there.
