THERE IS ALWAYS A FIRST TIME AT AHMAD'S

Ahmad's Fried Chicken just started its business at Taman Pulai Mutiara. My gastronomic buddy, Mr. Redzuan, suggested we went there to try the food.

We were there at about 5:00 p.m. and the place was jam packed with diners and people taking away. It must be the excitement of trying the fried chicken at a new restaurant, or it was already pay day for government servants.

THE VERDICT: Mr. Redzuan reported the Beef Burger was the ordinary one. I had fried chicken and my spicy version was too curry-ful. You could already see it from the color of the chicken skin. The food was cheaper than other fast food restaurants I think, and you got the huge glasses for your drinks instead of the regular ones.

I met two ex-students of SMK Taman Universiti in the restaurant. One of them, Miss Rosieyati [forgive me if I got her name wrong] was there with her three children and was kind enough to pay for my meal. Today must be my lucky day.

Once Eid month has ended, I shall then continue with my regular gastronomic adventure.

THE 26TH DAY OF EID 1447H

The one must-visit house for Eid would be of Puan Aliah Hussein's, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti. Luckily I still managed to visit her towards the end of Eid month.

She had taken the trouble to prepare special food for the visit: Ketupat, Lodeh, Chicken Rendang and two types of sweet dessert.

Before I left, another ex-colleague, Puan Hashazah Hashim arrived. Too bad I could not stay to join the gossip session as I had another appointment with a friend right after.

Three more days to go for us to celebrate Eid.

THE FAREWELL SCRAP BOOK FROM THE YEAR 2014

The scrap book was produced my students of SMK Taman Universiti whom I taught them English when they were in Form 1 and 2. It was a farewell gift when I was transferred to another school.

Only now I had the time to upload the pages of the book to be documented. I have lost contact with everybody from this batch. I wonder how they are doing now.

CELEBRATING A FRIEND'S BIRTHDAY AT COFFEE BEAN & TEA LEAF

I managed to get Mr. Shafiq Jaafar, an ex-colleague of SMK Dato' Jaafar, to go out of school during lunch hour on his birthday. I specifically chose Plaza Pelangi as the venue was near to his working place.

We had Oglio Olio and Tuna Sandwich at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. REASON: Only these two items in the menu were available at that time. Thank God, they were good.

It was only a short dine in session as he had to rush back to school. Wishing Mr. Shafiq a great birthday and thanks for being THE Mr. Handyman who is always willing to help when there is any emergency that requires repair or mechanical-related problem solving issues.
