CHOWRASTA MARKET REVISITED

  18TH DECEMBER 2022   ~ It is customary for people visiting Georgetown to buy and bring back preserved fruits home. We were taken by our host, Puan Aishah Aboo Bakar, to Chowrasta Market to do just that.

Initially we just wanted to buy the various preserved fruits but in the end, these people bought bagful of all the things that were available.

We were all happy that we had many plastic bags filled with all sorts of food items to bring back home from Penang.

SHOPPING (FOR PRESERVED FRUITS) AT CHOWRASTA MARKET

23rd MARCH 2018 ~ When in Penang, what would be the must-buy item to bring home? Preserved fruits. We were taken to this place called Chowrasta Market in Georgetown. 

The place was definitely a preserved fruits haven - you could get all variety  of fruits like mango, papaya, nutmeg and even snake skin fruit.

The market was modern and quite big actually but we only visited the section selling the items we wanted to buy. I was happy that I had something to carry back home from Penang.
