THE ALUMNI REUNION HI-TEA OF SMK TAMAN UNIVERSITI AT RAMADA MERIDIN - PART TWO

The plan to organize the Reunion Hi-Tea for the alumni of SMK Taman Universiti was finally executed on 2nd May, 2026. The event was held at Ramada Meridin Hotel. 

I was with a few ex-students of SPM batch 1999 who acted as committee members and they voluntarily worked together to make this gathering happen.

The final number of people who turned up for the reunion was more than 90.

The organizer tried to minimize the items in the itinerary as people were actually more interested to get reconnected and socialize.

By the end of the day, I could conclude that the whole thing was a huge success. Thanks to all the participants for making the day a moment to cherish and remember.

I have to thank all the committee members who had been working real hard to make sure things happened as planned. There were challenges that we had to face, and at one point we almost had to postpone the gathering as number of people who had registered and paid online was very few. Their commitment and determination were amazing, working until late at night, especially when we had to discuss things online in Whatsapp group. Eventually, we were happy that we could reunite teachers and students together and all the hard work was paid off.

This is a collection of photos of people who attended the Hi-Tea Reunion Gathering of SMK Taman Universiti held at Ramada Meridin Hotel on 2nd May, 2026.

The attendees comprised of both the ex-teachers and ex-students of the school, and a few brought along their spouses and kids. There were more than 90 people who came that afternoon.

THE SHORT MEETING WITH TWO OTHER REUNION COMMITTEE MEMBERS AT RAMADA HOTEL

  13th FEBRUARY 2026   ~ This was a short meeting with two other committee members of the Hi-Tea Reunion Gathering of SMK Taman Universiti. The main agenda: to hand over the deposit of the event to the hotel finance department.

We would be back at Ramada Meridin Hotel on the 2nd May 2026 for the real event.

THE HOMETOWN GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE SERIES: LUNCH AT RAMADA MERIDIN

   15TH FEBRUARY 2026    ~ As I had had lunch twice at Ramada Meridin, I really had to get my gastronomic adventure buddy, Mr. Redzuan, to come to this place. It was a huge relief that he agreed and we we at the Cafe at about 3:00 p.m.

Fried Kuew Tiaw for me while Mr. Redzuan had Seafood Fried Rice. The combo came with mushroom soup, fruit platters and drinks - and believe it or not, everything only cost RM29.90.

It was the last day of the promotion. Hoping there will be other similar package at the restaurant after the fasting month.

This time, we managed to squeeze in for a short coffee session at Zus Coffee located in Setia Eco Garden.

This was the biggest Zus outlet I had been to and would be a suitable place for people to hang out and chat longer. We now know a new place to go to, just in case we need a place to sit and enjoy the air-conditioned dining hall. 

This could be our last outing before the arrival of Ramadan, or could it be the second last?
