ATTENDING PUAN HJH. MARIAM'S DAUGHTER'S WEDDING RECEPTION

21st APRIL 2018 ~ I attended a wedding reception thrown by Pn. Hjh. Mariam Shahrom, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, who was there earlier in the 90's before moving to another school. She taught Bahasa Melayu when in SMKTUN and she is the Senior Assistant at SMK Gelang Patah. The wedding reception was held at TNB Hall in Kempas.

I met an ex-student whom I taught in my English tuition class, Miss Amira of SM Islam Hidayah, when she was in form 3 and 4 (in 2007 & 2008 if I am not mistaken). Amira was accompanying her mom who is also a teacher (a Principal actually now) and she is now practicing Law in Kuala Lumpur.

A wedding reception is always a venue for reunion and I am sure there will be more to come.

VISITING THE STUDENTS AT SM ISLAM HIDAYAH

11th September 2015 ~ Giving talks and conducting workshops were the things I seldom do these days. For one thing, I am now teaching in the morning session so I cannot leave school before afternoon. The talk/workshop is difficult to carry out in the afternoon as there are meetings all the time. And not many schools have the workshop in the afternoon as students might not come. I only accept invitation from schools but I am getting more selective. I need longer hours to conduct the workshop and I do not want too many participants for the slot. I just want to ensure the effectiveness of the session. I actually am not that keen to conduct such programmes anymore, maybe I am getting old already. *sigh*

I was invited to conduct a workshop for SM Islam Hidayah and I am here for almost every year. The session lasted for three hours and the students were attentive and responsive. I just hoped that they had gained some knowledge that would help them in their upcoming PT3 examination.

Good luck to all the form three students of SM Islam Hidayah, especially for their English paper.

STARTING THE ROAD TOUR FOR 2011

I was invited to Sekolah Menengah Islam Hidayah today to conduct a short training for the English teachers there. It was a short session that lasted for two hours but there would be more training sessions in the near future. So far, this year, that would be the earliest invitation I had received and accepted. Thanks to the teachers of that school for calling me to go there.
