INTRODUCING PASAR KARAT AND STULANG LAUT TO A VISITOR

25th MAY 2023    ~ The next tourist spot in Johor Bahru my friend from Labuan had to visit was Pasar Karat. Do not be surprised this should be the tourist guide first visit to this place. Guess I had to thank the tourist or else I would not be here.

How would I describe Pasar Karat? It was another night market that one could spend time at up until late at night. If you have visitors, this place could be an option and one could buy something to take home from here. However, we didn't buy anything.

The last spot visited was Stulang Laut. The reason: to see the night view of Singapore just across the Strait of Johor.

Those were the activities for my friend that I managed to plan for my friend for the day. Glad that he had quickly recovered as he was not feeling well in the afternoon so we could be at the city centre.

THE HIDDEN JEWEL AMONG THE AIRPORT TERMINALS - PART 2

5th JULY 2019 ~ The Rain Vortex attracted all the visitors more than anything else at the Jewel of Changi Airport. Water cascading down from the top of seven-storey high inside a thick glass tunnel created the image of water falling down from a hole in the sky. People were trying hard to get themselves photographed in front of the waterfall from different angles and levels of the vortex.

If you feel the Singapore tropical weather was not kind enough, this should be the perfect place to cool down and pretend that you are in a lush, green jungle where the air was fresh and rejuvenating.

This place reminds me so much of Gardens by the Bay.

The students and teachers of SMK Dato Jaafar seemed to enjoyed themselves more at this place for their benchmarking trip compared to the previous venue.

I will definitely have to make a return trip to this place again one day. There are more things to do and see and I need a longer time to do that.

THE HIDDEN JEWEL AMONG THE AIRPORT TERMINALS - PART 1

5th JULY 2019 ~ After the so called academic visit to the National University of Singapore, a busload of teachers and students from SMK Dato Jaafar headed to Changi Airpot. No, we were not flying anywhere but to visit its latest attraction - the Jewel, the luxurious mall hidden among airport terminals.

We were greeted by this security robot at the entrance.

The main attraction of Jewel Changi Airport - the Rain Vortex. It is the world's largest indoor waterfall at 40 metres in height.

Then there were this spot which housed a number of eating outlets. In fact, there were many restaurants here but finding halal food could be a challenge.

There was also an indoor park which reminded me so much of Garden by the Bay.

There were so many things to see but we had only about one hour and a half to spend.

TO BE CONTINUED IN PART TWO...
