THE GATHERING THAT HAPPENED AT KLIA2

   30TH OCTOBER 2024    ~ I had a few hours to kill to catch my AirAsia flight home to Johor Bahru. A gathering with two ex-schoolmates of SMS Muar was set Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2.

The lunch date took place at Tea Garden where there were not many people in the dining area. Hence we could sit longer to enjoy our food [and gossip].

Then there was this notification informing that my flight was delayed for about an hour so we then adjourned for coffee at Richiamo Coffee nearby.

We were there for about 3 hours to catch up for lost time, which was not enough. Hopefully there would be another opportunity for another gathering with Puan Adura Adnan and Puan Hafizah Mohd. Noor in the near future.

There was an unexpected meeting with two people in the boarding hall. There were Dr. Ng Pei Fern, a friend of UPM TESL Class of 1993, and Puan Law Siao Siu, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, who are now colleagues. They were also going back to Johor Bahru after attending a course in Putrajaya. Reunion happened everywhere.

GETTING SOME VITAMIN SEA AT TELUK CEMPEDAK BEACH

   29TH JUNE 2024    ~ Another popular tourist spot in Kuantan would be Teluk Cempedak. Puan Maslinda Mohd. Dahalan and her husband were kind enough to ask me to join them to get some Vitamin Sea late in the afternoon.

There were already many people when we arrived. We were there not to get wet but just to walk around the place and many visitors were doing the same thing.

Besides the beach, another attraction of the place should be the monkeys. Many people were seen happily feeding the animals and trying to take photos of them or with them.There were just too many of them running around.

We decided to get some snacks, "Keropok Lekor", fried sausage like fish cake. Instead of eating at the beach or at the food court, we bought our coffee and drinks at Richiamo Cafe there and ate outside the restaurant. Most of the time, outside food would not be allowed in such premise but I guess there was an exception here. People bought food somewhere, got their coffee from the cafe and had them there.

    

As we were about to leave, we met another TESL friend, Puan Hanna Sheikh Mokhtar, and her family. They were also going to attend the same wedding reception like us the next day. We were also meeting them later for dinner right after with other friends.

THE DINNER BEFORE LEAVING KUALA LUMPUR FOR THE Nth TIME

25th MAY 2024 ~ I was yet to leave Kuala Lumpur again after the 3-day stay in Bangi/USJ/Kuala Lumpur/Shah Alam. As a consequence, I had to trouble Mr. Ridwan Wahid and Puan Suhaila to entertain me when I was there and eventually send me to Subang Airport.

As usual, they took me first to dinner and this time we went to Richiamo in Elmina, somewhere near their house in Shah Alam.

I decided just to have [2 pieces of] Salted Egg Croissant with coffee while the lovely couple had rice.

The ambience of the cafe was quite homey but too bad we could not stay for too long as I had a flight to catch [and only to learn that the flight was retimed again for the second time after checking at the counter].

Thanks again Mr. Ridwan and Pn. Suhaila and I cannot thank you both enough. Maybe we will be meeting again in Kuantan soon.

THE COFFEE SESSION BEFORE SOMEONE WAS LEAVING JOHOR BAHRU AT THE BUS TERMINAL

Mr. Afif Farhan Zulkiflee [an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti] was home for the Thaipusam long weekends break and the only time we could meet for coffee was a few hours before the express bus which would take him to Kuala Lumpur arrived.

So we met up at Richiamo Cafe at Larkin Sentral at 6:30 p.m. The only pastries left at the counter were a piece of Salted Egg Croissant and three pieces of donut.

I had to make a move as it was already late for our Maghrib prayers so we had to say our "Goodbyes" and hope to meet again when Mr. Afif is back for his next semester break.
